chw42
Grabow's WHIP is a hefty 1.500 this year. Yikes.
SoxFan1
We should have traded them Randy Williams.
Chisoxfn
Still no word on what they are getting back. Gorgo is going too.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) We should have traded them Randy Williams. If you would have asked Hawk last night during the game, I dont think he would have given up Williams straight up for Halladay
SoxFan562004
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) Grabow's WHIP is a hefty 1.500 this year. Yikes. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/grabojo02.shtml a career WHIP at 1.45, so it's not like he's just having an off year Do they have games against the Cards left? That lineup is so tough with Holliday, Derosa and Ludwick now hitting and even Lugo is hitting. The Cubs may realize that Hart, Dempster and Wells might not fair so well against them and Harden, even when he pitches well, is often out in the 6th. ThunderBolt
I have a bit of a feeling that Fontenot might be involved for the Cubs. Not based on anything other then gut feeling
League
Pirates get Kevin Hart and Jose Ascanio. http://espn.go.com/chicago/ Ed Price tweets that 3b Josh Harrison is in the deal as well. Edited July 30, 2009 by League
SoxAce
Something always told me they were using Hart for trade bait.
ThunderBolt
QUOTE (League @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 05:49 PM) Pirates get Kevin Hart and Jose Ascanio. http://espn.go.com/chicago/ Not really seeing the upside in this deal for the Pirates. Both pitchers have live arms, but still...
Chisoxfn
Goldstein was twittering that Jackson was in it. Not the Cubs 1st round pick from this year.
soxfan3530
not a very good move for the cubs imo.
ThunderBolt
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) Goldstein was twittering that Jackson was in it. Not the Cubs 1st round pick from this year. Jay Jackson. AA or AAA for the Cubs. Another nice arm. Looking a bit better for the Pirates
ThunderBolt
Looks like Jackson isn't in the deal. It's Josh Harrison a 3B.
dpd9189
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) Looks like Jackson isn't in the deal. It's Josh Harrison a 3B. So basically this trade is Hart for Grabow. Not bad for either team....not great but not bad. Don't know much about the 3rd baseman but both Gorzo and Ascanio are bums. League
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) So basically this trade is Hart for Grabow. Not bad for either team....not great but not bad. Don't know much about the 3rd baseman but both Gorzo and Ascanio are bums. Harrison seems to have some potential, his minor league numbers suggest he could be a Chone Figgins-esque 3b. Wow the Cubs gave up a lot it seems for a guy with a 1.5 WHIP and a failed prospect.
