Interesting Splits for Buehrle

Though it seemed like he was horrible for the whole first half up until June. Buehrle has been coming back slowly from a horrible May. I expect him to get his ERA under 4 in the next 2 starts. Check out these splits.

March: 1-0 1.35 ERA

April: 2-3 3.92 ERA

May: 0-4 7.16 ERA

June: 3-2 3.83 ERA

July: 3-0 2.17 ERA

It was just one bad month. No sweat.

Wow. Is it just me, or did it seem MUCH worse than that?

No, it was worse than just one bad month. The losses started in April, continued through May, and then he got back on track in June. Let's not forget that most of the losses in April. May. and June were in a row while he went on that winless streak.

He had the 2nd worst run support in the AL at one point, that is why he was struggling at first. Plus in May he had that awful start against the Twins (9 or 10ER) that totally skewed his era for the month.

I'm one of MB's biggest fans and have posted as much several times. The fact is he went through a real tough string of 11 starts from April 20 to June 11. In that time span he went 0-9 with a 6.86 ERA. In his last seven starts he's gone 6-0 with a 2.24 ERA, the MB we've all come to know. Hopefully he keeps it up. With continued strong SP coming from 4 guys we can still salvage this season.
