I had no idea Adam Russell still had value. No Hudson, No Flowers, etc.. :) Though I'm REALLY gonna miss Dex and Richard.. :( But wow.. :o

Yeah, really nice for the Sox. We lose a lot, but we still keep some very quality guys in the system.

Excellent timing for Richard. Poreda looks like a LOOGY to me. Its a freaking steal if Peavy is Peavy the rest of the contract.

I agree with you on all fronts. Carter may be the biggest loss, and Richard could end up being a back of the rotation guy, but Peavy trumps all of that. Poreda must not have hurt his value too much with his poor control in the majors.

Chicago White Sox The Chicago White Sox have acquired right-handed pitcher Jake Peavy, a two-time All-Star and the 2007 National League Cy Young Award winner, from the San Diego Padres in exchange for left-handers Aaron Poreda and Clayton Richard and right-handers Dexter Carter and Adam Russell

I personally don't like this at all. Peavy's paid a ton, showed that he didn't want to come here earlier in the season, and has been hurt. No bueno, IMO.

Maybe he thought about it, spoke a little more with Linebrink and such, talked it over with his family, and was presented with an opportunity again. It's possible.
