southsider2k5
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) I had no idea Adam Russell still had value. No Hudson, No Flowers, etc.. Though I'm REALLY gonna miss Dex and Richard.. But wow.. Yeah, really nice for the Sox. We lose a lot, but we still keep some very quality guys in the system. IITsox
QUOTE (TheHolyBovine @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) Interesting. If true, I wonder who our 5th starter would be for the next month? Dan Hudson? Carlos Torres?
BigSqwert
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) Who the Hell is pitching tonight? Wise

HuskyCaucasian
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) You better give us 6 good innings...... well, I can give you 6.... good is another thing.
nitetrain8601
Buehrle Peavy Danks Floyd Contreras That's a damn good rotation!
southsider2k5
And BTW, this is exactly why Kenny stayed extremely cordial and respectful of Peavy after the first turndown.
Steve9347
QUOTE (3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) Detroit and Minny, there's your f***ing answer Yeah, he's only injured and collectively hated by White Sox fans already. Haha.
Balta1701
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 01:35 PM) Torres spot start? Is Lillibridge still in Chicago?
SoxFanForever
Where is that Kenny in the fighter jet pic flying under the radar?
Soxfest
This is basically the same trade that Peavy rejected in June, Nice job KW!
Allsox
Don't like that Richard was involved as it seemed he was starting to find his groove here and especially with Colon's elbow morphing into a grapefruit. And I thought Peavy was out until Sept?!?
CanOfCorn
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) Who the Hell is pitching tonight? I'll take a night of DJ Carrasco for 4 years of Peavy.
RockRaines
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) Excellent timing for Richard. Poreda looks like a LOOGY to me. Its a freaking steal if Peavy is Peavy the rest of the contract. I agree with you on all fronts. Carter may be the biggest loss, and Richard could end up being a back of the rotation guy, but Peavy trumps all of that. Poreda must not have hurt his value too much with his poor control in the majors.
TheBigHurt
WOW. Nice. But I just remembered he is on the DL. How long until he comes back and how long do the Sox have him locked up for?
DaTank
I personally don't like this at all. Peavy's paid a ton, showed that he didn't want to come here earlier in the season, and has been hurt. No bueno, IMO.
Balta1701
Chicago White Sox The Chicago White Sox have acquired right-handed pitcher Jake Peavy, a two-time All-Star and the 2007 National League Cy Young Award winner, from the San Diego Padres in exchange for left-handers Aaron Poreda and Clayton Richard and right-handers Dexter Carter and Adam Russell - Official Sox facebook posting. Special K
Detroit felt cool for about a second after they got Washburn, and then Kenny rammed this down their throat. I will never doubt KW again
chw42
So ummm, who is going to start tonight...?
BigSqwert
I bet you Buehrle's perfect game and all of the national media attention the Sox received had a minor role in Peavy's head. Who wouldn't want to pitch with Mark after seeing that?
Harry Chappas
Stone saying that Peavy was in no hurry to come back..
3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
Sox have options of Torres, Colon, maybe Garcia until Peavy gets back. The only real problem is tonight. Honestly I would take that for multiple years of Peavy
nitetrain8601
QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) I personally don't like this at all. Peavy's paid a ton, showed that he didn't want to come here earlier in the season, and has been hurt. No bueno, IMO. Maybe he thought about it, spoke a little more with Linebrink and such, talked it over with his family, and was presented with an opportunity again. It's possible.
