Guest hotsoxchick1
thanks for the update... stewart surprises me.. when i saw him in action this past summer he wasnt that impressive....i guess winter does something to these guys and makes them perform better and those who were performing good during the season turn to crap in a handbasket........go figure....... MurcieOne
I think that Stewart is gonna be the PTBNL in the Oakland trade...... He's a lefty and beane loves his lefties.

To me the one guy they might get would be Aaron Miles and I know Michelle loves Miles, but I wouldn't mind losing him at all. Mainly because he's older for a second base prospect, at 26, and he didn't even play in AAA last year, mainly because Hummell and Harris were there. Plus, we have Hummell, Harris, and Edwin Yan all developing as very solid 2nd base propsects which means we can easily afford to give one up. The A's could use a second baseman in case Ray goes elsewhere, plus its great insurance in case Ellis falls down. Great write up Mark. To me Stewart is a typical lefty and even though he's a starter, I'd look for him to be a reliever in the majors. He doens't have anything special when it comes to stuff, but he's just a smart pitcher with a lot of poise and control.
MurcieOne
Thanks for the complements Jason..... I think the "opportunity" that people are not quite realizing is..... we are going to save money THIS pre-season..... so we can go and offer more money/years for Omar Daal...... or go and Offer Jamie Moyer a contract.... go and offer Clemens something. Maybe I am just a "optimist" but I can see this happening.
witesoxfan
Don't the A's have Esteban German? I thought he was a pretty damn good 2B prospect...and if so, why would they need a backup for him? Ellis is there(and from the great state of South Dakota), and German will eventually take over...what would be the point of Aaron Miles? In case both German and Ellis become s***ty, especially after Ellis has shown success at the major league level? I highly doubt it. We will be keeping Miles, and I think he could turn into a good utility infielder type, much like Graffanino. Stewart wouldn't be bad...but you gotta remember that just because the guy doesn't have good stuff doesn't automatically make him a s***ty pitcher. Buehrle quite possibly has the worst stuff on our starting pitching staff...he's not even close to being the worst pitcher on the staff...in fact, I don't know how the top young pitchers in the AL could be close to the worst on any staff. I don't have a problem with his stuff.
Chisoxfn
I forgot all about German. Either way, as long as we don't give up one of our good arms I'll be happy.

Umm that makes zero sense,he wouldn't be a player to be named later,as he is on the 40 man roster, the ptbnl would be someone that can't be named until after the rule 5 draft, not someone on the forty man roster.
