Jenksismyhero
I prefer Nix out there. He actually takes a ball (gasp! sometimes more than one per at bat, gasp!), he doesn't swing the for fences every time (gasp!) and with Getz and Pods we have a team that can run, run, run. We lose Alexei's crazy strong arm at SS, but I don't think Nix makes the X number of errors Alexei is going to make, so to me, that's a wash. What say you? MHizzle85
Not gonna lie, I likes me some Nix too. But, I don't think he'll even get close to more PT unless Alexei stinks up the joint when he comes back.
Heads22
Ramirez >>> Nix
Felix
Today's 4 walks for Nix were an abberation, don't consider it something that will happen regularly. And he really does try to swing for the fences every time from what I've seen of him this season. He definitely tries to pull everything, regardless of where it's thrown. hogan873
Yeah, Alexei is the better choice at SS, but Nix has looked good. He's a very good utility IF guy, and he's stepping when we need him.
Kyyle23
I also feel that while Alexei certainly has his share of brainfarts, Nix is making him look 10X better out there on defense. 2B seems to be much more of Nix's forte' than SS. He has made some pretty simple play errors and a couple of really hideous throws.
Balta1701
Didn't Nix also have a couple errors today?

Ramirez is 4th on the team in walks. Swinging for the fences? Nix hits a HR every 18 ABs and Ramirez hits one every 33 ABs. Are you sure you don't have your logic reversed? Nix is a very solid Utility player, but I would rather have Ramirez in the lineup. With Quentin getting back into shape and Getz heating up, the lineup is looking really solid from top to bottom. Heads22
Ramirez is a free swinger but he's getting better at taking pitches that he normally fouls off. He's got all the talent in the world, he needs to realize it.
chunk23
Nix may not be better than Ramirez but I'm certainly happy to keep him around as a bench option.

I guess it's just the eye test. To me Nix' approach is better. I don't see him swinging at balls in the dirt. I'm not saying he's the next Pete Rose, but to me he's making things happen, more so than Alexei, who I always pray doesn't kill a promising inning. chw42
Nix got away with a couple of calls on his walks today. I've never seen him this patient before TBH with you. His OPS is a nice .771, almost 25 points better than Alexei's. Jayson Nix that sees regular pitching could be pretty good, as he seems really rusty when he's platooning. He would get exploited big time if he played everyday.
