SoxnGiants
He has plenty of power - more than enough to hit 30 home runs. He just isn't selective enough with his pitches. If he ever became more selective I think he would be a 30/30 type and then some.
GoSox05
If we get Rios tomorrow, where does he play? Does he come off the bench for the rest of this year or do we bench someone?
Steve9347
If he starts over Pods I'll kill someone.

BigSqwert
What time is the deadline tomorrow? And any chance a deal gets done today so that we can get him to Seattle for tomorrow's game?

PeavyTime
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:12 AM) If he starts over Pods I'll kill someone. Pods will still play, but not in CF thank god.
League
I would guess that Rios would play at least 5 days a week, giving one of Pods, Q, JD, Thome & Konerko a day off every day. Edited August 10, 2009 by League
GoSox05
QUOTE (League @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:19 AM) I would guess that Rios would play at least 5 days a week, giving one of Pods, Q, JD, Thome & Konerko a day off every day. Thats what I was thinking. Maybe Q could DH during lefties. Dye could also DH some days.
League
Yeah. I would guess that Thome and Quentin would lose the most playing time.
Steve9347
QUOTE (League @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:23 AM) Yeah. I would guess that Thome and Quentin would lose the most playing time. Yeah, let's replace the guy with .901 OPS.
BigSqwert
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:37 AM) Yeah, let's replace the guy with .901 OPS. Meh. He's just guessing. I doubt Thome would see a noticeable decrease in playing time. One guy who definitely will is Wise. Doubt he'd even stay on the roster. Pumpkin Escobar
Getting inside a day remaining...You'd assume we'd have landed him if we were going to. I'm sure KW gave JP a package to work with similar to the BoSox with Adrian Gonzalez. And if Ricciardi wants to keep bluffing then I'm sure he'll end up not dealing him. We're luckily in a position of power where we are playing well, willing to take on the money, and have our OF set. Adding Rios isn't a necessity but just a big addition. Ricciardi I'd assume is probably playing this like the Halladay move and it just isnt. So who knows. I hope Rios is in a Sox jersey by tomorrow though. knightni
Pods will lose the most time. Q Rios Dye is a better OF anyway.
chisox2334
I already believe rios was pulled back. But, that's my thought.

G&T
QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 10:43 AM) I already believe rios was pulled back. But, that's my thought. Agreed. It's very rare for guys to be dumped over waivers. I can't imagine a trade with the Jays since Riccardi wasn't interested in anything for Halladay. They don't appear to match up. knightni
I hope that Ricciardi loses his job over the money that he wasted. Ryan, Wells, Rolen, Rios, Overbay...

If he was pulled back dont yout think it would be announced by the Jays so they dont have to deal with this media firestorm for another day? They would have won the waiver claim because of their worse record.
Pumpkin Escobar
I don't think he was pulled back. I think he knows we have some valuable pieces and is trying to get them. Meanwhile, I see Kenny just laughing off JP's offers and telling him that he'll consider him for a position when JP gets let go for messing this up too.
