Podsednikintheoutfield
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:31 PM) Time to move him up in the order, and bat him 3rd. Sounds good to me, Dye is home run or nothing, and it's more of the latter.
Paulie4Pres
If I'm Ozzie after tonight, I run out Pods in LF, Rios in CF, and Quentin in RF for at least a week. Dye just looks absolutely terrible. Remember when Dye was hitting .300? I do. I think it was like two weeks ago, and now he's batting .272. That's not really a slump. Someone needs to check if he has a pulse, at this point.

Friend of Nordhagen
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:29 PM) This 3-4-5 is home run or nothing since the All-Star Break When we're trailing by a few late (from the 7th on) and starting an inning, I'd say the 3 hitters I want to see least are Dye, Thome and Konerko. joeynach
QUOTE (GordoTheGreat @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:25 PM) Why can't Liner do that when we need him to? Becasue sometimes u have to have the wheels fall off the realize some changes need to be made. It looked me like he figured it out. He has been getting killed by Righties on his fastball, which most of the time starts away and runs right to the middle/middle in part of the plate. Meatball pitch. Derek Lee got him on that pitch in June and Jamey Caroll got him yesterday. U see todays game. He threw the running fastball to Ichiro (runs away from him), and threw none of those running fastballs, only offspeed stuff to Gutierrez or Lopez (both righties). And low and behold a 1-2-3 inning. Out of those 3 I'll take Thome, Dye and Konerko can't drive them in.
fathom
How many f***ing times this season can our pitchers not even check the runners and let them steal a base? That's just inexcusable, and I still believe there's a huge disconnect between some of the coaches and our players.
Friend of Nordhagen
QUOTE (SockMe @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) im still laughing over that 0-48 soon to be 0-49 stat Again, I'd chalk a lot of that up to our lifeless middle-of-the-order guys. They give away at bats late in games, and if they happen to get on, it takes 3 hits to score them.
