dasox24
I've got a question about Koch and the games he's pitched in. Does anyone know in the games that Koch has pitched in, how many times has Koch given up 1 or more runs vs. how many times he's pitched and not given up any runs. It just seems to me like every time he pitches we have to expect at least one run to go up on the board.
Capn12
28 games he has pitched in, he gave up 0 runs. 16 games he has given up 1 or more.

greg775
Thanks goodness we've been using other closers of late. Koch is no good. Nice acquisition, KW. That said, nice win tonight. Six in a row. Good job boys.
BPSOX12
i can tell that he does not like being a setup man it has disrupted his chemistry. im sure once he gets back into the closer role he will become the old billy koch we thought we knew. If Manuel agrees with u then we may as well give up on the season. I'm sorry, But it's damn near August. If he's not right by now then more than likely he's not gonna be.... CubKilla
28 games he has pitched in, he gave up 0 runs. 16 games he has given up 1 or more. 50%+ of the time this guy comes in he gives up runs. Botch blows. The stolen base Hinske got in the 8th was all off of Botch. Botch can't pitch and he can't hold runners close from THE f***ING STRETCH! Quite frankly, I'm sick and tired of seeing Botch have the effectiveness of a T-Ball "T". To hell with this guy.

CubKilla
i can tell that he does not like being a setup man it has disrupted his chemistry. TOO f***IN' BAD. And what chemistry are you referring too? The type where OF's get whiplash watching HR balls sail over their heads? Or the utter embarassment a team must feel when a cross-eyed guy hits a walk-off against your $5 million + closer that we gave up an AllStar closer for? No excuses. This guy SUCKS! mike12345
koch is just going through the same thing as konerko and maybe the second half he will show us the real koch..i dont think we should give up on him just yet but also since we are in a pennant race every game counts so we must be careful not to pitch him in a tough situation
Chisoxfn
I noticed one thing, Marte has more blown saves this year or just as many as Billy Koch. Marte has blown six, hasn't Koch blown the same?
greg775
Great posts. Several of these made me about laugh out loud. Most of us agree Koch is abysmal. He is the pits. I feel for him also, but he can't pitch in many meaningful games or we're doomed.
mike12345
i think koch came in and had us all thinking he would be the best closer in the game and he struggled and now he feels the pressure and can't pitch as well..i think if we give him some time to find his old self he will start doing better
Jordan4life_2003
Marte has blown 6 saves? Well if that's true his era is like 1.60....Koch's is like 8436231563125682356983......So stick with Marte....
CubKilla
i think koch came in and had us all thinking he would be the best closer Only Maury and Guido . I didn't want this batting practice pitching closer. Botch should have made the AllStar team with Foulke..... only Botch should have been pitching on Monday so we could have seen some REAL bombs
mike12345
marte is a good setup man..we have to have someone hold them in the 8th..i bet you werent talking all this s*** about koch when we first got him...why do u give up on these guys so easily...hey buerhle gave up five runs today maybe we should trade him cuz he really sucks

How long r we supposed to wait for this guy? Let me remind u...WE HAVE 61 GMS LEFT. WE CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP RUNNIN THIS GUY OUT THERE. If this was May I would agree with u...And as far as Buehrle goes he's been got his s*** together....
Mathew
Billy Botch f***ing licks sack! He will not get better face it, he was necer that good to begin with. Marte's blown saves could have come in the 7th 8th and perhaps with inherited runners on or whatever inning so I wouldn't look at that save, Botch's are pretty easily traceable, and he tried hard to f*** the duck again tonight. I can't believe we are still having these threads.

KipWellsFan
I noticed one thing, Marte has more blown saves this year or just as many as Billy Koch. Marte has blown six, hasn't Koch blown the same? 2 points Jas -A blown save could have been like bases loaded no outs in the 7th Sox up by one and Marte comes in and gives up a sac fly. That's a blown save. And has anyone else noticed that f'n Koch like falls off of the mound after he throws. It's a terrible defensive position, like the fricking Wild Thing Mitch Williams. CubKilla
Botch tried hard to f*** the duck again tonight. He did. I was at work, listening on AM 1000, and John Rooney snapped when Hinske swiped that bag off Botch, from the stretch and without a throw from Alomar, which lead to the 6th run for Toronto. Rooney said something like..... That's awful. That base was stolen 100% on Koch. Alomar never had a chance. Koch didn't even try to hold him at first. Now a single becomes a double. Toronto came into the game with 17 steal attempts..... and had been thrown out 17 times. Unbelievable. An RBI base hit followed. Sounded like Rooney has had enough of Botch's antic too. Jordan4life_2003
What he meant was that the Blue Jays have 17 stolen bases in 34 attempts...Meaning they have been just as unsucessful as sucessful...lol

I'm assuming it's true because Farmer didn't correct him.
