Mathew
I was watching the game, Botch threw over on the first pitch and then didn't look the second time, Hinske was wise enough to get a running lead off. I'm proud of Botch for no giving up any jacks, that's how high I set the bar for him.

CubKilla
What he meant was that the Blue Jays have 17 stolen bases in 34 attempts...Meaning they have been just as unsucessful as sucessful...lol Thanks for the correction. Someone should wake Farmio up when Rooney's going ape-s*** in the booth
Chisoxfn
He did. I was at work, listening on AM 1000, and John Rooney snapped when Hinske swiped that bag off Botch, from the stretch and without a throw from Alomar, which lead to the 6th run for Toronto. Rooney said something like..... That's awful. That base was stolen 100% on Koch. Alomar never had a chance. Koch didn't even try to hold him at first. Now a single becomes a double. Toronto came into the game with 17 steal attempts..... and had been thrown out 17 times. Unbelievable. An RBI base hit followed. Sounded like Rooney has had enough of Botch's antic too. Are you saying that the Blue Jays have been thrown out every time, because that's not possible. 17 times sucessfully, 17 times unsucessfully. Capn12
Yeah, mike12345...if ya havent noticed...most Sox fans are quick to give up on ANYONE that KW gets, cause if he makes a trade, in most of their minds the acquisition automatically sucks. You all say he is awful, and it was a bad trade. BULLs***....look at the past numbers,....Koch was the prototypical closer, and that what most people pissed and moaned about last year when Foulke was struggling. Sorry, MLB players go through bad times, ask Paul Konerko, ask Joe Crede, ask Miguel Olivo...it f***ing happens, get over it. You guys expect us to have All-Star caliber players at every f***ing position on the 25 man roster....it can't happen, cause guys struggle, and Koch is struggling mightily. No one seems to mind the fact that our ACE gave up 5 runs in 7 innings, but I'll be damned if the 1 run Koch gives up is reason for everyone to whine. Get a grip. He's here, he will be next year, and he will be the closer again next year....when he is back on, feel free to jump back on the Koch bandwagon, I'll be waiting for ya. toasty
I wanna know why the coaching staff has not helped koch figure out what is wrong with his mechanics and get him back in shape!!!!
IndySoxFan
I wanna know why the coaching staff has not helped koch figure out what is wrong with his mechanics and get him back in shape!!!! yea curly, it would do me good to think they are working on another pitch for this guy..... i did not see the game tonight but i heard his curve was pretty lousy
Capn12
I wanna know why the coaching staff has not helped koch figure out what is wrong with his mechanics and get him back in shape!!!! I completely agree...someone, preferably Coop need to get with Billy, talk and figure out what the deal is. He was hitting 95 tonight...good for most pitchers, but not for Koch. If Coop can get the guy righted, and I think he can, then Marte, Koch and Gordon are DEADLY in the bullpen.
dasox24
Capn12, I love your Avatar(or wutever its called). Office Space is a funny ass movie! He was throwing a 95 MPH that was diving away on lefties. It looked good to me, problem was it was his only pitch that looked good. I still think they can fix this guy. Capn12
I still believe that plain and simple, the guys arm was WAY OVERWORKED in the past...i'd love to be proven wrong by Koch and Coop, and he get his off-speed stuff working, then 95 is plenty good. I still think they can fix this guy. That's good to hear he's throwing 95, i just hope now that he can get it up 3-4 more mph and that would be awesome. I really hope they can get him back to where he was, if not this year then next, because I think he could be a really good closer. Of course, if they can't fix him then I'd like to see Danny Wright be tried as a closer.

I won't post the numbers again as this one has gone on long enough, but if you care to gander at them, in one of the 1000 other posts on the subject, tell me how he's a great closer. Career long slumps are not White Sox fans hopping a bandwagon at all.

Hmmm...this isn't hard to figure out actually...155 saves in 320 games, only 49 decisions....almost a K per inning, only 34 HR allowed in 320 games...the 9 he has given up this year are the most he has given up in his career, don't tell me something isnt wrong with him. His stats last year speak for themselves...good ERA, 44 saves, good WHIP...what the f*** is a prototypical closer to you? the stats from 2002 scream "Closer mentality" to me
YASNY
I believe Koch will eventually get his act back together and be a solid closer again.
Capn12
I believe Koch will eventually get his act back together and be a solid closer again. That makes 2 of us, man....the only player I have been REALLY against on this team was Jimenez, cause the guy just flat out didnt play intense baseball. Someone send him a tape of Carl Everett playing, that guy plays the game the way you are supposed to, and plays smart. Jimenez was a complete blockhead on the basepaths. I agree with you on Jiminez too. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a long time,..... too long. I'm glad that dude is out of here. Chisoxfn
I saw Jimenez make an unbelievable catch a few nights ago ranging out into foul territory. I also feel Koch will be fine. I think he was overworked, plain and simple.
