whitesoxfan99
Terrible defensively, worst base runner in baseball and a mediocre hitter at best. This guy is our "MVP", GTFO. He has been picked off 7 times this year and gets picked off at 3rd base with less than 2 out tonight. Pathetic.
fathom
He's not doing a lot of things right on the baseball field right now. He's basically playing like he did in 2006. His bat speed is gone right now, as he has no chance to pull the ball with any authority. Even his stance is a little different, as he's keeping his hands lower. We've scored in 1 of our last 27 innings or so...

He really needs to become our 4th outfielder, but Ozzie will never do that cause he needs his speedy guy in the lineup.
son of a rude
I really hope ozzie benches nogoodnik tomorrow. He will probably do something else though. But you can't get picked off if you don't get on base in the first place. Let's hold some of the golden boys accountable too, shall we? fathom
We face a lefty on Friday. If Pods starts, then I give up on Ozzie handling the Rios acquisition properly.
Steve9347
Pods is the man. He's a dumb man, but he is still THE man. One screwup does not discount a season of pleasant surprises.

I've never seen a more inflated .349 OBP anywhere, and .349 isn't spectacular to begin with. This was also a game of fundamentals. Having only seen highlights, I can tell you that the Mariners defense should have kept this game close, and the Sox terrible base running and lack of productive outs kept them from getting on the board. It's games like this that really make you wonder if this team actually would have a chance at winning in the postseason if they got there. SoxAce
I will bank a Quentin-Rios-Dye OF on Friday. Dye will probably play so It'll either be Pods or Quentin getting a day off. Knowing Ozzie's ass... it'll be Rios-Pods-Dye though.

One screwup does not discount a season of pleasant surprises. There's been more than one screwup. For a supposed leadoff hitter, base stealer, and igniter, he runs awfully cold at times. Steve9347
I hate this thread. Let's not pick on Beckham or Quentin who went 0-fers. Let's pick on teh guy who managed to get on third and had a brain fart. Sure, he was on base twice tonight, with two hits, which is two more than Beckham or Quentin, or 1 more than Rios, Thome, AJ, or Alexei, but let's get pissed at Scott Podsednik. His OBP is only the THIRD HIGHEST ON OUR ENTIRE TEAM of those who played tonight. But screw him. You're right, he's worthless... He has been picked off 7 times already, and that doesn't count the times he has been picked off but got lucky and was safe at 2nd. It isn't a brain fart, he is absolutely horrendous on the base paths. And a .350 OBP is the absolute minimum you should accept from your leadoff man, especially when they don't hit for power, are horrendous on the base paths, and are bad defensively. He has helped us this year because he replaced Wise and Anderson who are truly terrible baseball players. But lets not pretend Pods is actually a good player. iamshack
Steve, you're absolutely right, he seemingly catches a lot more flack than just about any other player in the organization. Unfortunately, he does make very stupid mistakes on a fairly common basis which makes him the target of much ire. I also think tend to think a few guys are jealous of him because of who his wife is....

Sure Bacon can't even lay down a bunt, but PODSEDNIK is the only reason the Sox lost tonight. I'm going to bed before I get suspended defending him. This is unbelievable.
