You guys may blast me but I am super excited to get my first taste of the new season tomorrow at UIC.

Shut up about ISU. Everyone here can talk about their own teams, except you s***ty ISU fans. :P

Just got back from the weekend. Syracuse gave the first of some tough love ass whoopins for my young Heels to endure in the upcoming weeks. I'm afraid, with this stretch ahead of them they "will get some tough lovin". Hopefully, the younguns can grow and be a much stronger version by March.

The 'cuse looked long and more athletic in their zone against Cal & UNC (could be a mirage). It's early but if Scoop Jardine can run a strong point, Wesley Johnson looks like a 1st team all american type who can take them a long way. Still very early, but Wesley can be a difference maker.

He be good.

At least ISU is rolling again today, up 62-33 on Mississippi Valley State with 13 or so minutes left.

My childhood friend is head coach at Mississippi Valley State. Sean Woods who hit the "game winning" shot against Duke to send Kentucky to the final four, before Leatner stole his glory with that B.S. buzzer beater. I talked to Sean this summer, MVST. is a long way away from being much good right now, but I wish him well in doing what he can with them.

That was a s***ty effort by the redbirds. Won by 4. Was a real fun game to be at though. Over 50 percent in attendance was ISU fans. Its almost like they were avoiding O in the second half after he had 17 in the first half. They have a long way to go before conference play.

Solid win by Purdue over Tennessee :headbang

Then again the Vols are ranked a bit too high imo.

That was a slugfest. Good win for Purdue with JaJuan Johnson sitting out most of the game with foul trouble. Barlow showed some heart and played hard, but looked like a scared freshman on those last two misses at the line to give Tennesee the shot for the win. Glad to see the East Chicago kid E'twaun Moore walk away with the tournament MVP!

Chalk that one up to bad coaching at the end, like usual. I mean, I'm really not surprised. I don't think Pearl ever knows what he's doing at the end of a close game. We've lost a few big games like that over my 4 years at Tennessee.

Just wait for the big 12, Heads :)

The conference looks notably deeper this year. Kansas and Texas top 5, Colorado and Iowa State better (even if still bubble teams at best), K State and Mizzou have solid tournament hopes. OU may be a bit overrated, but they should be there at the end. Ok St has looked solid early.

Didn't think Illinois looked that bad tonight. Wofford played about as well as they will ever played, especially that first half. Nice play down the stretch and McCamey was brilliant tonight, other than that last possession.

Wofford has played well so far this year. Won at Georgia, lost in the last minute at Pitt and Bradley. Not an embarrassing effort for Illinois.

Illinois looks bad against Wofford. Ties with 13 mins left. Paul in foul trouble and looking out of it.

What game were you watching? I was really impressed with Wofford. A very well coached team that played with a lot of intensity and hit a lot of big shots. I think Illinois can look back and feel good about the win. They didn't break down, they didn't panic. They were forced into a slow-down, half court game (which is a weakness), but still managed to shoot 57% and pull away in the 2nd half. Overall a solid win over a pretty solid team.

And I can't say enough about Paul and Richardson. Richardson was solid for the 3rd straight game, playing good defense and hitting some big shots. Paul didn't have a great game, and he's got a knack for getting himself into trouble with the ball (picking up his dribble/jumping in the air with no where to go with it), but he's going to be a special, special player. I can see why Weber thinks he can be a Dwayne Wade type guard. He can drive, make some seperation, and then hit a jumpshot in your face.

Also props to McCamey. I think this is the guy Illini fans saw in flashes the last couple of years. If he can be consistent I think this'll be a really good year for Illinois.

ISU destroys another opponent.

Finally, real teams this weekend. St. Louis on Friday, NW or ND on Sat.

St. Louis qualifies as a "real" team . LOL. Well, you did just say real, not good, so maybe I can buy that. N'western? ND I'll give ya .

The one on ESPNU between the #21 team in the country at home vs. a team from the Southern Conference.

I agree, Wofford wasn't bad, but expected better than the Illini having to pull away in the last 6 minutes to squeak a win out.
