I'm sick of mediocrity with our basketball program. Leonard Hamilton will never amount to anything more than what we have right now. He brings in the talent, but can't coach them. There's a problem when everyone says you are one of the most talented teams in the country, yet you can't score more than 20 points in the first half of a NCAA tournament basketball game. It would be scary to think what this team could be if we actually had a coach. Too bad our athletic department could give two s***s about basketball.

I don't know much about FSU basketball, but aren't you guys having more success right now than you have had since the Sura, Ward, Alien head days? FSU clearly has the talent to be a Sweet 16 type team, but Hamilton just needs to hire a great X's and O's coach on the bench. Most of the black head coaches of today are in the same boat. But that's another story.

It's been better since I've been here. We have had two NCAA bids, two NIT bids (one in which where we should have been in the big dance) and winning seasons. I don't know how bad it was before as I didn't know much about FSU basketball before I was in high school since I grew up in Illinois. However, we're at a point where making the tournament just doesn't cut it anymore.

FSU basketball was horrible before Hamilton got there. The guy has made FSU relevant in basketball in the ACC and you cant ask for much more really. He took FSU to the ACC title game last year and won a regular season Big East title with Miami a few years back which is a huge accomplishment. Problem is he isnt a good big game coach. If he can find another Thornton type player(I think thats the name of the guy who got drafted) then FSU will be a team that can make a Sweet 16-Elite 8 type run in few years. A proven scorer plus the way you guys play defensively would make your program very formidable in the tournament.

What is the interest locally of FSU basketball? I've never been to the arena but it appears blah and dead on tv. Is it like that in person?

None. They constantly move the students farther from the action yet the boosters and non season ticket holders never show up to fill the seats that are shown on tv. It does get very loud in the arena, but you can never tell.

A lot of it also has to do with the style of basketball we play. It is terribly boring and the offense is completely inept. It's hard to pick up casual fans when you play butcher ball for 40 minutes a night.

4 Naismith finalists...

Evan Turner

John Wall

Wesley Johnson

AND

Sherron Collins

LOL

Yep, what an absolute joke. Should have been James Anderson. Collins was horrible this season. He'll have a fun time playing in Israel next season.

Big Ten was by far the best conference this weekend. It was a terrible performance all around though from everyone else.

People will leave the Big East alone when they have two teams in the Final Four. Big Ten really had a very good weekend overall, but it probably won't last with Hummel and Lucas out, although MSU can beat UNI without Lucas. Ohio State fans should book their hotel rooms in Indy right now though.

I'm missing something, did Wisconsin win? Big 12 has 3 sweet 16 teams as well. Kansas' and A&M's losses were bad, but the Big Ten has just played to seed. Can't say by far the best.

Kentucky, Cornell, and Duke were clearly the 3 most impressive teams this weekend. I love the line by draftexpress about how it's the battle of the future lottery picks against their future financial consultants. With the game being in Syracuse, everyone besides Kentucky fans will be cheering for Cornell.

It's amazing how many breaks Wisconsin gets every year with regards to upset in the region. Too bad they couldn't capitalize on this, even though that Wisconsin team was smoke and mirrors this season.

Crap, meant to include them. They're far and away our best hope to beat Kentucky. They have the length and size down low, and they'll make Kentucky beat them from the perimeter.

No, by far the best but mainly because everyone else was terrible. Not sure where you get that the Big 12 has 3 teams?

Anyways:

Big Ten: 7-2, .778

SEC: 4-2, .667

Big 12: 7-5, .583

Big East: 6-6, .500

ACC: 5-5, .500

MWC: 2-4, .333

I'm not going to give Duke much credit, they really didn't beat anything. At least the Gonzaga and Wake Forest teams that Syracuse and Kentucky beat were dangerous, Cal is just a group of mighty mites who can shoot, but can be easily beaten if you guard them at all.

I also don't think you can just say the Big 10 is by far the best because Michigan State won two games at the buzzer and Purdue eeked past a bleh A&M team, along with the fact that the Big 10 only got 5 teams in the tournament. If we're going to punish leagues for being good enough to get 7 and 8 teams in, then yes the Big 10 has been the best by far. But I find that to be silly, and you still can't just ignore Wisconsin's embarrassing performance today.

Duke only beat up on terrible, terrible Cal team. Of course, Wake is terrible too, but when you beat a team by 30 as talented as them, well, it's impressive.

The Big Ten more or less did what they should have done, aside from Wisconsin, but with MSU and Purdue perhaps advancing a game farther than they should. As I said, it really wasn't their performance though. The rest of the major conferences have been basically terrible all around.

And yes, conferences like the Big East should absolutely be punished for getting embarrassed when their top seed line was 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 6, 6, and 9 and can't even get 3 teams into the second weekend.

Cal is not terrible, but people don't realize how sensational Duke is on defense.

Big 12 has 2 don't they? Kansas St. and Baylor are all that is left.
