Joe Cowley = most annoying Sox beat writer

Anybody else follow him on Twitter? Half of his updates have nothing to do with the Sox. I hate when this guy goes on one of his Tweeting binges.

Sorry, I know this is off topic and has nothing to do with the Sox.

Come on. People are doing the same thing with Cowley as they did with Hineybird. We all know that both suck, and they mostly say things to get attention, albeit negative. People complained and complained about Hineybird, and continued to read his stuff just to see what else he had to say to piss them off. Now they do it with Cowley.

Just ignore him, and he won't bother you.

I've been following on Twitter and I agree, the guy is an a@@ clown. Not only is he Mr. Negative, but I am convinced he really really thinks he is funny......every damn thing he says has some lame attempt at being humerous.

I have since stopped the Tweets

Obviously I'm in the minority here but I like Cowley. I hate when beat reporters just trot out the company line and spin everything positive. He definitely doesn't do this, nor is he bland like, say, Gonzalez. I like him for many of the same reasons I liked Sam Smith (albeit in a slightly different capacity).

Yeah, I don't mind Cowley. I've only ever listened to him on the score during my train ride however, don't have a twitter account and I don't read the paper that often.

Zaidman is the most informed beat reporter in town, bar none. My problem with him is his delivery is so forced "radio guy", and after I heard him do the Depaul games it annoyed me even more. I can listen to him because like I said, he is informed, but I completely understand why people do not like him.

Cowley is awesome. At least he is critical of the team as a beat writer. Mark gonzales is blah and boring. Never criticizes. Brings nothing to his articles or tweets except the obvious

That's what makes him suck IMO, he will be critical but he will never be positive when good things happen, if he is it's always with some smart a@@ comment related.

i do think cowley goes out of his way trying to be witty sometimes and that can be annoying as well as miss the mark. for the most part though i think he's solid as a beat guy.
