KW really doesn't have a lot to show right now for his moves the last two years.

Nobody does. We just have to hope the future is as bright as it appears in some regards. Picking up the Rios contract will hurt in the long term though, and we are going to have some holes to fill as we phase out the old f***s over the next couple of years.

Hawk said KW was on top of it. I guess that means more Randy Williams.

It is time for Mr. Smugass KW to take major heat for his BS excuse for a team he put together!

There are so many problems with this team. I can't see where anyone can assume its so bright. The good news is the division doesn't appear to be very good at least for the next few years.

I just hated when he made excuses about the horrific defense. He went out and said Ramirez was a GG calibur SS. He said he was a better SS than 2B. Now he says its it first year playing there, they expected some problems. Concentration problems? Thats garbage. Good defense is a requirement for championship-like play.

I'm through with the SS experiment with Alexei. He is absolutely awful out there. We can't have him there next year.

Nick Masset: 2.81 ERA 57.2 IP

Mike Macdougal: 1.98 ERA 36 IP

David Aardsma: 2.26 ERA 31 Saves

I would like them back.

Cooper did a terrible job with MacDougal. The Washington pitching coach has told him to throw 90 pct fastballs compared to sliders, and his heater is up to 97 mph now. Same goes with Aardsma, who throws 3 mph faster now than he did with the Sox.

What was Freddy's pitch count when he was yanked? Anyone know? It seems like we should just let our starters pitch the entire game every other day. It's really the only chance we have to win.

Twenty-two runs in the 7 games against NY and Boston from our bullpen? LOL

We have to hope Linebrink has a 2005 Cliff Politte-type resurgence next year. Its our only hope. The Sox are stuck with him.

I'm starting to question Coop as well. We get rid of those guys to improve our bullpen, and our bullpen is one of the worst in baseball now, with all three of them pitching great this year. Meh.

Look at his pre and post ASB splits. Two different pitchers.

Masset hasn't been very good for a while now, he just got off to such a hot start that his numbers look good. Aardsma had trouble with a few organizations and is just having a career year, and MacDougal is pitching in meaningless games for an NL team. Plus, they are all bullpen arms, so they could just as easily suck next year. Bullpen pitches are whack jobs, I can't rip on us for having a few doing well that we let go.

I always thought Macdougal had electric stuff.. I remember he was lights out his first year here. The Sox just gave up on him though.. another terrible move.

...And people told me that Masset was nothing special last year when I said I didn't like how we gave up Masset in the Griffey deal.

I think his arm is just done. He's only got so many pitches in it, and he has passed that point.

He still has really good velocity. He just can't throw the breaking pitches anymore.

Having Masset and Macdougal right now would DRAMATICALLY improve the garbage we call our bullpen.

Ugh, it's so frustrating we tanked after the trade deadline. We could have gotten rid of Dye and Dotel.

I remember getting roasted for suggesting to trade Dotel and try to dump Linebrink if at all possible. We should have made those moves regardless. If we'd have eaten some money on Dotel we would've gotten a nice haul, and had we kicked in a couple halfway decent spects on Linebrink maybe we could have dumped his ass. Probably not, but we still should have explored it.

This pen is bad now, but it's going to be REALLY bad in 2010. With Dotel gone our righty options are Pena and Linebrink. We have no secondary lefty. To top it off, we may be forced to move Jenks over the offseason in order to clear more salary to improve other aspects of the team. We're going to seriously need some of our young relief prospects to step up big, and soon. And hopefully we'll be able to find another lefty through trade.
