ThunderBolt
QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 11:26 PM) Rumors were swirling that Thome had been traded... but Ozzie just shot that down. according to Cowley's twitter. I love Big Jim, but damn if i wouldn't like to see what we could of gotten for him.
JDsDirtySox
Hold the phone, Thome might be on the move, or at least thinking about waiving the no-trade clause. He's not commenting right now.
Dick Allen
It appears Thome may have been traded but must wave his no trade.

ThunderBolt
Oh, man. Oh, man. Let's hear it media. BRING IT. This gives Flower's a real chance of factoring at DH.
Kalapse
Well if Jim Thome does get dealt at least I'll have a contending AL team to get behind for the rest of the season.

Possible, they just gave up a decent arm for Huff and have a lot of salary on the line for next year.

Soxbadger
If they already cleared waivers the Sox can trade them to NL or AL. It could be any team.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (b-Rye @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 10:02 PM) Last 30 days.. Beckham .222 Dye .186 CQ .244 (.144 last 7 games), Rios .192, Konerko .244, Thome .250, rest of starters .250+.. Linebrink 8.49, Williams 8.60, Conteras 7.66, Buerhle 5.44, Pena 3.97, Dotel 4.91, everyone else under 3.60era. That pretty much saids it all. joeynach
They were all available and hopefully all still are. Dye, Thome, Konerko, Pods, Dotel, Linebrink, Contreras....they all basically need to be traded now while we can get something in return. The aging, old slow, wear down in the 2nd half types need to be removed from this roster. You will never win a pennant race like that ever, and Kenny finally gets it. No more relying on Thome/Konerko/Dye to get us there.
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
QUOTE (son of a rude @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 07:54 PM) he was at 3b for both games today. thinking about him at third, beckham at 2nd, alexei at shortstop flowers at catcher, quentin in right or left, and rios in center makes me cum. only question marks would be DH, 1b, and the other corner spot. those can usually be filled decent hitters. a man can dream... Defensively that might make your pitchers impotent.
caulfield12
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) Cabrera, Huff, Thames, Ordonez, Granderson, Inge, Guillen and only 6 positions to play them. They're rather deep. Not to mention Clete Thomas and Ryan Raburn, two "under the radar" rookies who have both had very solid seasons and quickly replaced Josh Anderson...and they had enough depth to trade Matt Joyce in the best move of this off-season, the Edwin Jackson acquisition. With Jackson on the Sox instead of the Tigers (or the Twins, for that matter), either of those two teams run away with the division. Of course, you could argue if we had Mo Rivera or Pujols, the same would be the case, but there aren't many players who have had the impact on a new team that Jackson did in DET.
