murphy's has the best burger in town ( on green st)

legend's has a great fish sandwich (also on green st)

Agree on a burger at Murphy's.

Geovanti's, also on green street, has huge, amazing chicken strips, as well as a wide array of calzone's that are too big to eat in one sitting.

Murphy's for cheeseburgers and Guinness.

I assume Legend's is what DeLuxe turned into and the fish sandwich is their original recipe. If so, it is one of the best fish sandwiches you'll ever have.

Totally surprised nobody has told you to make sure you get out to Chester Street.

Holy crap, I haven't thought about a Deluxe fish sandwich for a long time. I heard they had closed a while ago, but if you can get one, definitely do it. Gotta agree with Murphys burger too.

I'll throw in a third for Geovanti's (Green and 4th). I'm also a big fan of Za's (roughly Green and Wright), pretty good pasta and it's quick. I can't believe no one mentioned Papa Del's (also on Green, closer to 1st), easily the best pizza down there.

If you have a vehicle, my favorite for dinner down there is Crane Alley over in Urbana (115 Main). It's a little more upscale and has some pretty solid food, plus a varied beer selection.

You need to try Fat Sandwiches before you go.

didn't work out. They supplied lunch for us, and for dinner I was back near the hotel on south Neil street, so I needed something nearby (no car, I took the train here). I'll make sure to stop by there on the next trip down here.

Monical's was pretty decent thin crust pizza.
