son of a rude
^^^ There's a big difference between trading a future HOFer to a contender and kicking somebody off of the team out of anger. one is funnier than the other
dmbjeff
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 11:06 PM) Anyone who advocates releasing either one has zero clue about baseball or how business is done, or about showing any damn class/respect as an organization. you ought to ask Carlton Fisk about that

Tigers, Jays, RedSox have all done it. They have no place on the team. Bad contract for bad aged talent. They can't keep DLing these guys to get them in the minors. Add Colon to that list to. Even if Sox won half those games, they would be over .500 now and in a pennant chase. Edited September 1, 2009 by b-Rye

Remember Carlton Fisk's last days with the Sox? I don't think it could get much worse than that. Not saying KW would do something like that... but our beloved Sox do have a history. Bad contract for bad aged talent. They can't keep DLing these guys to get them in the minors. Add Colon to that list to. So what do you actually gain by releasing either? Other than, you know, showing you have no class as an organization.

There's one month left with Jose! f***, pitch him out of the pen, but you don't cut the ace of your 05 WS team and a guy who went balls out just to be back this season. As far as Linebrink, why would you simply declare him as a sunk cost? He's not been good, but he hasn't been horrible?

ptatc
QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 11:08 PM) you ought to ask Carlton Fisk about that Yeah, I hate it when an organization keeps a player around who can't hit or catch just so he can break a meaningless record which turns out only lasted a few years.
