SoxFan562004
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) Starting Freddy doesn't make sense if we're rebuilding though. after Freddy's last 2 starts I'm interested to see how he pitches the rest of the season, and if it's similar I have zero problem with the Sox bringing him back in ST to compete for the 5th starter spot. There's no guarantee Hudson will be ready next year or ever.

WCSox
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) Starting Freddy doesn't make sense if we're rebuilding though. Last I checked, we're looking for a #5 for next season and Freddy is literally family. This would be a good opportunity to see what he can do, in the event that Hudson isn't ready in April. jamesdiego
QUOTE (Pumpkin Escobar @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 11:15 PM) I wish we could cut them both but you're right. Linebrink being cut serves us no purpose other then to send some form of message or something. Contreras sucks. He deserves to be cut and doesn't belong on a major league roster. The reason he'll remain is because of our relationship with his agent and how stupid it would be to embarrass him and have it reflect poorly on a goldmine relationship we have with cuban ballplayers and their desire to come here. Contreras has given ALOT to this organization, glad they were able to find him another place to play. To cut him would of made us look very bad, glad you're not the GM. Dick Allen
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) Starting Freddy doesn't make sense if we're rebuilding though. Get used to Freddy. He has a $1 million option for next year with another $2 million in incentives. As long as his shoulder holds out, he'll probably be back. Peavy's probably thinking thank god there's no structural damage to my elbow... he's also thinking he's going to be in a rotation with Danks, Floyd and MB going into next year with a GM and org. who tries to win every year. I highly doubt Peavy made the decision to waive his NTC to come to the White Sox based on this year alone or even as a major reason
