kjshoe04
He may have sucked this year, but he was maybe the number one reason we won a World Series title. Sad to see him go. Always worked hard for the organization and I hope he turns it around with the Rockies. So thanks to Jose. :notworthy

The Ginger Kid
I appreciate the way he worked his ass off to make it back by spring training. Says a lot about that guy, that and the fact he accepted the demotion to Charlotte. Adios, Jose.
South Side Fireworks Man
Jose is a class act. Yes, he was one of the main reasons the Sox won the World Series in 2005 and for a time was the best pitcher on the Sox. He handled himself well during his recent struggles after working his ass off coming back from what seemed almost certain to be a career ending injury. I'll always appreciate that. I'm glad he got another chance with a playoff contender and although he has been ineffective recently I hope he has another good run in him. I'd love to see him in the World series again this year. All the best, Jose, and thanks for the World Series.

iamshack
Jose has, for some odd reason, been my favorite player since we acquired him. So long, El Titan de Bronze
kjshoe04
I don't know why, but getting rid of Jose has actually kind of got me down. He's been terrible and I've hated his performance this season but hes still probably in my top 3-5 white sox players of all time. I'm sad. jamesdiego
QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 11:23 PM) I guess some people just don't appreciate a World Series Championship nowadays. To hell with you Hawk! Thanks Jose, it was awesome when you were completely unhittable for a full year. Yea, and the ring was nice too. Gracias hombre! whitesoxfan99
Contreras was fantastic in 2005, was a huge reason the Sox won the WS, and until he hurt his back he was lights out in 2006. I still wonder what might have been that year if he hadn't gotten hurt.

BurlyMan56
thanks for 2005 and 1st half of 06 jose, and for a guy that threw a perfect game this year. 2 sox pitchers with perfect games, Buehrle and Hynick baby!
BFirebird
Good luck to Jose. Class act all the way. I hope you find your forkball in the NL and help the Rockies.

SoxAce
Helton is glad he won't be the oldest anymore (and yes Jose is older I don't care what his D.O.B. says) That Rockies team full of young guys are really fun to watch.

The Bones
The man was simply dominant down the stretch in 2005. We do not win the World Series without him. Good luck in Colorado Jose!

greg775
Hopefullly he'll thrive in Colorado with a new 0-0 record. I love Jose but my gosh was he rotten this year. Horrible record, some really bad outings.

Says a lot about that guy, that and the fact he accepted the demotion to Charlotte. Absolutely. He was a great guy and did everything you would want from a guy. It's a shame he had so many struggles in the US because he had unbelievable stuff when he was on.

BigEdWalsh
Due to my moving to frickin' Utah in 2005, I only went to one game that year. Jose pitched and beat the Twins (Crazy Carl homered twice). Fond memories! Jose was a class act if ever there was one. He will be missed in that respect. Adios, mi amigo! Chisoxfn
The Bronze Titan. I won't miss watchim him pitch (I hated everything about his pitching style) but he had a special run for a while in Chicago and is an incredibly hard working individual. I wish you the best Jose!!!
