Chisoxfn
Thought it was worthy of its own thread. But the MRI results came back and the elbow injury is just a bone bruise and Peavy's elbow is A-OK. WHOOOO!!!

Steve9347
I'd love to see Peavy pitch sometime next week. There's no reason to let all of his hard work be for naught.
thedoctor
great to see he's ok. i was getting worried after some of the armchair doctors in the other thread were predicting gloom and doom. i never knew you could accurately assess someone's health by reading newspaper quotes but apparently some here possess that ability. hogan873
Good news. I would like to see Peavy pitch this year. It may not matter, as the team will most likely be out of it soon, but there's no reason to not let him start a game or two. I understand the concern about his health, but if I see the words "shut Peavy down" one more time I might vomit.
Steve9347
I look forward to watching his first start for the Sox sometime in the next couple weeks.

WCSox
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 06:18 AM) Hopefully April 2010 Yeah, no kidding. This would be a good time to shut Quentin down as well.
BigSqwert
QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 10:44 AM) Yeah, no kidding. This would be a good time to shut Quentin down as well. And Jeff Cox.
Milkman delivers
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 10:44 AM) And Jeff Cox. He said "shut down" not "put down"
greg775
There's absolutely no reason to pitch this guy this year. Bring him to spring training ready to hopefully go. I mean he's been out so long, no reason. I'm all for holding off Cleveland, but cmon. Do it with the young guys, not Peavy, who has had a bad luck season and might get hurt again. elrockinMT
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 01:20 PM) I'd love to see Peavy pitch sometime next week. Lwet's see what we have to look forward to in 2010
chw42
Shutting Quentin down might be a good idea. As for Peavy, I'd like to see him pitch this year. I'm pretty sure Kenny will do it as soon as he finds out that Jake is ready to go. He needs to fill up some seats.

There's no reason to let all of his hard work be for naught. Except for the fact that the bone bruise on his pitching elbow is causing him serious discomfort. ThunderBolt
I'd still put a healthy Peavy in play. I'm a stubborn son of a b**** and still think we can get at least 3 games back even without Thome in the lineup.
greg775
You are stubborn. I don't know why you think our bullpen is magically going to start getting people out and why our defense is going to become adequate all of a sudden.

I don't know why you think our bullpen is magically going to start getting people out and why our defense is going to become adequate all of a sudden. it's baseball. inexplicable things happen often. really, though, the bullpen and defense problems would be less acute if we were hitting remotely close to what folks expected.
