I feel for Olivo.  This has to be hard for him.  He's jumping from AA to the majors and he wasn't exactly the most ready hitter at that stage.  This has to be hard on him.  I give the kid credit.  He really isn't ready and I hope the Sox can address this issue.

He's hurt us big time in late inning pressure situations. I just don't understand why Manuel won't pinch-hit or pinch-bunt for him. Contrary to popular belief, he doesn't have to learn to bunt the hard way and kill this team in the process.

Oh yeah, and I foresee in Carl Crawford's future...an At Bat against Billy Koch.

Manuel needs to make these guys accountable for their mistakes.  I'd have Miguel in early tomorrow to work on his bunting.  And he wouldn't be playing.

Hit and Run, Alomar fouls it off (2-2 count right now).  I really liked that call.

Jas, he didn't get the job done, but he is also a rookie, give him a break...Double play.....

i know hes a rookie but hes also failed in a bunting situation TWICE today. once is bad, twice is unnacceptable. bring him in early tomorrow for coaching and leave him on the bench for just that game. like chisoxfn said he needs to be held accountable. if you keep letting him off hes never gonna learn

He messed up one bunt, Jose messed up the other.

Miguel whiffed with runners on 1st and 2nd though, but I don't blame him for that...he shouldn't of been up there, they should of pinch hit.

Agreed, bunting can be done with practice.

2 out walk.

chisoxfn why the back down, you were right, He should know how to bunt, I don't care if he is playing college ball. He should be able to bunt.

No i agree with you there. Him not getting the bunt down is BS. I give him leeway cause he isn't ready to handle the bat, but getting down a bunt isn't like hitting a homerun, its something anyone can do if they practice.

And it would also be a miracle...

A miracle it would not be. He's done it 11 times this year and has done it 130 other times in his career.

The miracle would be if he could start throwing 97 or 98 and he got out of the inning without walking anyone. ;)
