jphat007
Man. If only we could somehow get Nix to pretend that nobody is on base when he hits. I think Rios goes up to the plate knowing he's gonna make an out. It's just embarassing to watch at this point.
fathom
Yep, and there's the amazing hustle by Rios. He didn't run more than 30 feet down the first base line on that lazy fly ball.
Harry Chappas
Would be really nice to see Dye and Rios do something. They are sickening. After reading Guillen's quotes I get the feeling the Alex Rios era is no going to end well. He is doing nothing much more different than Dye. Also Rios did not ask to come to Chicago, Toronto chose to pay him and Chicago took a gamble. Maybe he just sucks. Harry Chappas
Rios should try and bunt for a hit......although then he would have to run it out.
southsider2k5
Boy you can just feel the offense stalling. We have been doing this dance with .500, where we just can't win and get back there.

son of a rude
It's tough to get a rally going when you have an automatic out batting 4th. Maybe we'll get lucky.

Get him out of there! at-bats do not get any worse than that..... Again when does Guillen call him out? If he is hurt sit him down he has no value at all to this team. southsideirish71
I don't know what more evidence Ozzie needs that Dye needs to be moved to the back of the lineup. We keep putting him in positions where we have men on base, and time and time again he fails. I don't know if he is healthy, but you can't keep putting him in a position to hurt the team the most. jphat007
It is amazing to have 2 players playing as bad as JD and Rios are on one team.

At least Ozzie put Rios at the back of the lineup. Dye for some reason, is smack dab in the middle to strand guys like Pods and Beckham.

You have to bench him, end of story. Kotsay can do this, hell, anyone can.
SoxAce
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) I wish JD would move down in the line-up. Hated the move when I saw it earlier. s*** I'd rather have Alexei or Kotsay in the 4 spot than JD. Edited September 13, 2009 by SoxAce

fathom
Anyone else see the stat on Quentin in ESPN Magazine? He only has 2 home runs on offspeed pitches this season. He was in double digits against offspeed pitches last year. That's called not using the whole field!

SoxAce
If there's another main thing the sox need to work on next year is situational hitting. KW can only do so much trying to fix a problem I.E. pos. player needed or a bullpen arm, but it's up to the players and Walker to install that mentality to not do too much/get the job done with runners in scoring position. I don't even remember the 90 loss sox being this bad in situational hitting. Edited September 13, 2009 by SoxAce
