League
I felt the need to be the one who announced the Peavy game. Here's hoping for a good, healthy outing from him.

BigEdWalsh
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 19, 2009 -> 09:44 AM) Who the hell is Dusty Hughes? Precisely my thought. Poor Peavy, we're probably getting no hit tonight.
EvilJester99
They may as well throw their minor league pitchers against us... we can't hit em.
ThunderBolt
Seriously, i know A LOT of minor league pitchers, but i have never heard of Dusty Hughes. I think i'll go look him up.
Princess Dye
Crazy that my cousin picked one date out of the blue for us a few months back. It was this game. Whooo! Edited September 19, 2009 by Princess Dye

ThunderBolt
Bingo. Hughes' BB/9 in the Minors was 3.5, his K's were around 7/per 9. Hopefully, we've scouted this kid, and won't be torn to pieces.
elrockinMT
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 19, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) Who the hell is Dusty Hughes? All America will know him after he no-hits the punchless Sox tonight
YonderLaroche
Only the Sox can find a way to be shutout when its Peavy vs Dusty Hughes
MexSoxFan#1
robinventura23,that is one ugly list that is just getting bigger and bigger. This team mailed it in,they don't care so I don't care either...I'm going to watch just to see Peavy pitch and fully expect us to lose, that way if we miraculously win or don't get shut out by Cy Hughes,I'll be grateful. MexSoxFan#1
Just wondering, these game threads have been getting smaller, yesterday there were only 6 pages...any idea what is the smallest game thread ever? If I had to guess I would say 3 pages.

Dick Allen
Jayson Nix leading off. A guy owed $60 million hitting 8th and a DH batting 9th. You don't see that everyday.

Flash Tizzle
QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ Sep 19, 2009 -> 02:39 PM) Nix 2b Beckham 3b Pierzynski c Konerko 1b Ramirez ss Dye rf Quentin lf Rios cf Flowers DH 2010 here we come! I'd like to see Dye batting 7th or 8th before this season is done. I know 9th is unrealistic, if only for his 'veteran pride,' but I'd like to see him continue to look terrible and embarrass himself. If we're going to play him consistently, despite his inability to field or hit (and him having NO place in our future plans), may as well get some comedy out of it. greg775
The odds of us beating Dusty Hughes are not good. Unknown pitcher ... means trouble. Is he related to Dusty Springfield or Dusty Rhodes? Our hitters need to get down n dirty against Dusty.
