knightni
QUOTE (longshot7 @ Sep 29, 2009 -> 04:16 PM) You might be right, but wouldn't their Beat writer know more about them than Sox fans who don't live in the market? Or perhaps he sugar-coats stuff like Merkin. Gotta get those season ticket applications filled. Rays season ticket holder: "NO CRAWFORD OR UPTON?!" "I ain't sending them s***!" knightni
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 29, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) Oxymoron? They were in the World Series last year. They have similar fickle fans to the Sox.

I'm not privy to their books or long-term plans, but I don't see why the Rays need to move either of these guys this winter. Upton's under team control through 2012 and they can always let Crawford walk next winter and take the draft picks.
Quin
QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 29, 2009 -> 04:29 PM) I'm not privy to their books or long-term plans, but I don't see why the Rays need to move either of these guys this winter. Upton's under team control through 2012 and they can always let Crawford walk next winter and take the draft picks. Because why get draft picks when you can get AAA/Major League Ready prospects? WCSox
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 29, 2009 -> 05:11 PM) Because why get draft picks when you can get AAA/Major League Ready prospects? If the Rays still feel that their window of opportunity is open, keeping Crawford around for one more season makes sense.

SoxAce
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) Upton just hit for the cycle. He's a more talented Alex Rios, but a bigger tease. I still think he's going to explode any minute though.

I loved Beltran comming out as well and had some heated arguments over his potential when I was in love with him. I still love me some Cameron Maybin as well. beck72
My Dad is a Rays fan who lives near TB and was really frustrated with Upton all year long. A big reason was his K's and hitting at the top of the lineup [though Upton didn't make out the lineup card].
