Jordan4life_2007
Two months ago this was Lincecum all the way. But the St. Louis combo has made this really interesting. I still have to go with Lincecum. I'm bummed the Giants couldn't get to the postseason. He alone would've given the Giants a chance in any series. ThunderBolt
Lincecum had a better year this year, then he did last year. He's amazing.
Balta1701
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 03:33 PM) Lincecum had a better year this year, then he did last year. He's amazing. And yet, for the time he pitched, Carpenter was flat-out better.
ThunderBolt
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 06:36 PM) And yet, for the time he pitched, Carpenter was flat-out better. Better offense, less innings.
Balta1701
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) Better offense, less innings. Better offense can swing other ways though. Having a better offense can do things like push your ERA up, because you already have a 5 run lead and can afford to give up a run for an out. Yet, he still kicked arse. Lower ERA, better WHIP. ThunderBolt
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 06:40 PM) Better offense can swing other ways though. Having a better offense can do things like push your ERA up, because you already have a 5 run lead and can afford to give up a run for an out. Yet, he still kicked arse. It can work the other way too. Lincecum and Cain were pitching tight all year.

SoxAce
Lincecum, Carpenter, Wainwright are all worthy. If Carp pitched a tad bit more innings, then the choice is obvious. I still like him though, but this award is alot closer than most realize. I remember Kalapse had a question for everyone on who would you take this year as a 1-2 punch, Carp/Wain or Cain/Lince. You first look and say its obvious, but then you check the numbers and see them pitch.. it's alot closer than most realize.
justBLAZE
Carpenter (and Hill from Toronto) won the comeback player of the year award, I guess he can still win the Cy Young, but I voted Lincecum, the freaKKK.
Balta1701
Well, I'm impressively surprised by how this vote looks.

Leonard Zelig
Heard on the radio today that Wainwright had 6 losses in which he gave up 2 or fewer earned runs.
