Rowand44
My prediction: This team will be better than last years.
Dick Allen
While that playoff series was outstanding, let's not forget it was a first round series and the opposition was playing without one of the greatest players in league history. I say between 35-43 wins. I think they will miss Gordon. Noah and Tyrus hopefully will begin to shine. I'm just really worried their waiting for a big free agent is going to go bust. That would really suck, but at least they still will be in position to take on some money and if you believe some, there is a whole lot of financial trouble with some NBA teams. So even if Wade, Bosh, Johnson and LeBron play elsewhere, there may be a sleeper available. If not, the Bulls will be mediocre for a long time. DBAHO
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 06:28 AM) If they win 43 games, they will play someone like Boston, Orlando, or Cleveland in the first round, and they will be lucky to win a game against them, let alone a series. That's going to be a key for those playoff contenders who aren't "The Big 3". They've got to try and get that 4th or 5th seed so at least they have a chance of getting thru to the 2nd round. Just so that Hinrich can throw that little **** of a point guard into the scorer's table again. You mean this time. Cuz it was Rondo who threw him into the table. Rondo has quickly become one of the dirtiest players in the NBA by the way. I hope Rose has enough in the ankle to cross his ass up and dunk in his face tomorrow to show it in every highlight. I hate Rondo. Edited October 30, 2009 by SoxAce

Just so that Hinrich can throw that little **** of a point guard into the scorer's table again. I'll be very interested to see what happens to Rondo this season. He'll be a FA come the off-season, and it sounds like KG, Doc and Ainge are getting sick and tired of his act. But he'll be motivated to put up some real nice numbers also. Does he chase the $$$$ come the off-season?

Just so that Hinrich can throw that little **** of a point guard into the scorer's table again. That would be the only reason to want another shot at them. Because if they're healthy, we'd probably have to forfeit after game 3.

I realize that. I like the Bulls depth and I think it will be a huge asset in a physical series. Plus I really really think people are sleeping on what Hinrich, Deng, Salmons, and Miller for a full season will do to this club. Add that to a year older Derrick Rose, a more mature Tyrus Thomas, and an in shape Joakim Noah and I think the Bulls are a serious sleeper. If Deng is healthy and can play at his form from a couple years ago and Tyrus Thomas can be a legit staring PF (He was in the 2nd half last night), this team could be vastly better than I thought. Chisoxfn
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 09:49 AM) If Deng is healthy and can play at his form from a couple years ago and Tyrus Thomas can be a legit staring PF (He was in the 2nd half last night), this team could be vastly better than I thought. I love the leadership this squad has. I think it really has something it lacked in a Pargo and Hunter (quiet, back of the bench leaders). Than you add a Hinrich (always plays his ass off, great D), Deng (hard working, quiet leader), Brad Miller (more vocal leader), Salmons (whats not to like about this guy) and damn you really got to loev the squad. Add a Joakim who brings intensity and a Derrick Rose who can create points and this should be a pretty freaking fun squad to watch. In fact, I'm really excited to see what Del Negro does in his 2nd season. He's been very humble and well spoken and I like what he's told the various players. He's new to the position but has a lot of nice intangibles and could turn into a very good coach. We'll learn a lot about him this season as he will have some pressure handling so many quality players who will all want minutes.

Steve9347
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 07:14 AM) The Bulls are mediocre, yet again, but of course sneak into the back end of the playoffs behind the improved play of Rose. All off-season we hear about rumors of the Bulls and (iinsert big name FA here). In the end, Bosh signs with Miami and we're SOL and the merry-go-round continues. This still sound quite possible. nitetrain8601
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 04:54 PM) Strictly on the season, Bulls beat 38-44. Barely miss playoffs. Deng is dung. Salmons barely misses the all-star game, Rose makes all-star team, people call for VDN's head, and Bulls look to dump Tyrus at least at the break. BTW, Boozer will be the biggest name traded. At least I was partially right. Rose made all-star team, people still calling for VDN's head, Bulls looked to dump Ty Thomas and did, Deng is starting to become a ballhog though. DBAHO
40-42 for the Bulls I predicted, which is still possible if Rose's knee injury he suffered tonight is serious. At least I was right on the Thunder, although I said they'd win 35 games, and they've already won 35 games.

danman31
QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 01:01 AM) Luol Deng has a solid season, making up for the loss of Ben Gordon and the Bulls finish around .500 to get in the playoffs. I was pretty close. Deng had his best season statistically in a few years, though he missed 13 games due to injury.

Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 24, 2009 -> 12:54 AM) Man, you probably have to go back to the mid 80's to recall the top teams being so devastatingly deep/talented in comparison to the rest of the league. The Lakers, Spurs, Celtics, Cavs and Magic are all, at least on paper, COMPLETELY STACKED! The Lakers, as much as it pains me to say, have to be considered the favorite. They have the fewest questions marks and added an all-star in Ron Artest (although I think they would be every bit as good had they resigned Ariza instead). The Spurs are a big wildcard. IF (big f***ing IF) Manu and Duncan are healthy all year, they're every bit as good as the Lakers, IMO. When Richard Jefferson is your 4th best player, you're the s***. And I love the McDyess/Blair additions. That pretty much takes care of the west. Ain't nobody else close. For the east? The Celtics, like the Spurs, are the wildcard. IF healthy, they're the class of the conference. They've got the best starting 5 in the game and a much better bench to compliment it than they had last year. I keep flip-flopping between the Cavs and Magic. The Cavs obviously have the best player on earth in Lebron. And if Shaq is the Shaq from last season, he makes them better. But it's hard to go against Dwight Howard, Vince Carter and a healthy Jameer Nelson. Their overall depth is insane. They legitimately go 12 deep. If the Celtics are healthy, they're my pick in the east. If not, I'm goin' with the Magic. Spurs over Celtics in the finals. But the safest pick is obviously the Lakers. As for the Bulls? 41-41. I think Dick Allen said it best. This is a team stuck in pure mediocrity for the moment. A playoff team for sure. But that's it. However, I will enjoy, hopefully, watching the evolution of Derrick Rose.
