Controlled Chaos
Trib "In a dramatic turn of events, a Cook County Circuit Court judge halted Illinois' parental notification law on abortion just hours after a state agency gave it the all-clear. Judge Daniel Riley granted a temporary restraining order sought by the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois in the late afternoon, hours after Illinois' medical disciplinary board decided the state could begin enforcing the law. It requires physicians to notify parents or guardians when those 17 or younger seek abortions. Unbelievable.
Texsox
One luxury we have, being such a rich nation, is we can argue these things to the Nth degree, and usually a pretty damn good policy results. So have at it ACLU and the courts.

Texsox
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 08:37 AM) The rights of the parents be damned... The balance of all of our rights is an amazing thing. Like the old saying, your right to swing your fist ends at my nose. So we have a few hearings, a couple judges look at the rights of the 16 year old, and it passes the test. Trust the process.
