You believe in this Fifth Beatle hooey then too, huh?

:D

Hah. She has actually been a very talented songwriter - and I think there are some really great tracks off Approximately Infinite Universe and Feeling the Space, and she did release two very excellent albums in the 1980s - Season of Glass and It's Alright (I See Rainbows). Oh and her stuff on Double Fantasy sounds and feels much fresher today than anything her husband did on that record.

Some of John's Double Fantasy stuff was intentionally anachronistic to begin with, harkening back to doo-wop days etc. So now, yeah, some of it is doubly-anachronistic with the 80s overproduction on top of the throwback musical cliches. Sort of like ELO stuff, but good.

:D

wonder if ill match anyone, anyone here listen to hardcore stuff?? Or am i the only 22 year old here that doesnt listen to the radio?

I'm a 22 year old that never listens to the radio, but that's mostly because the radio plays crap (i.e. not Zappa). I mean, I do listen to other things, but when you have 1147 tracks of one artist and the next closest artist is at 373 tracks, you're going to tend to listen to that top artist a little bit :P

(yes, I'm sick)

(yes, I'm sick)

Alone in the hissing laboratory of his wishes, Mr Pugh Felix minces among bad vats and jeroboams, spinneys of murdering herbs, and mixes

for Mrs Pugh Felix a venomous porridge unknown to toxicologists which will scald and viper through her until her ears fall off like figs,

her toes grow big and black as balloons, and steam comes screaming out of her navel.

ELO is great, and this reminds me that I left them off of my list...Rush, too.

Rush was definitely on my list. I think they came in at the 10-15 range.

You are awesome. No questions asked.

On that note, the You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore series are some of my favorite live albums ever. Very good stuff :)

I must have listened to Helsinki (YCDTOSA vol 2) 50 times in a row when it first came out. Probably did the same for vol 1 as well. Great stuff.

I could have pulled about 25 different names out of the hat for 5-20 and been happy with the pick and position. It also has changed dramatically the past 10 or so years. I went with mostly mainstream acts except for voting Brian Anderson #1.

Rush made my cut and ELO wasn't even close. Didn't mean to bring you down, Bruce!

You're an evil woman and I hope you turn to stone. My dislike for you will burn like a fire on high all over the world until you get on the telephone line and take back your blasphemy. Otherwise, hold on tight because there's gonna be a showdown.

(There's at least seven ELO references right there.)

I dashed my list off very quickly to avoid agonizing over it. My only regret on reflection is that Led Zeppelin deserved to make the cut and I left them off.

I did the same exact thing for whatever reason. I don't know how in the hell I remembered The Four Tops and Sam Cooke but forgot Zeppelin.
