Brian
QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) Oh sweet redemption. Watch him pitch 8 innings of shutout ball against us, lol. That is what I fully expect to happen.
Chi Town Sox
Another little tidbit apart from Willie Harris batting 3rd the other night. Ross Gload led off for the Phils yesterday.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 11:56 AM) Another little tidbit apart from Willie Harris batting 3rd the other night. Ross Gload led off for the Phils yesterday. That Phillies line up proves that either other world series winning managers are crazy, or Ozzie isn't as stupid as people think. chw42
I wasn't aware of this until I saw the pitch f/x data, but Javy has lost nearly 3 MPH on his fastball this year.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) That Phillies line up proves that either other world series winning managers are crazy, or Ozzie isn't as stupid as people think. That was one game. No comparison to what Ozzie has done so far. Polanco, Francisco, Werth and Victorino could all possibly leadoff. Ross Gload shouldn't be leading off for a team like that Edit: Just seemed like a Sunday lineup then Edited April 26, 2010 by Chi Town Sox
LittleHurt05
Ryan Howard reportedly signs an extension with the Phillies. Ryan Howard signed a five-year extension with the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday. The team said the deal guarantees Howard $125 million over five years and could reach $138 million over six. Howard, a former National League Rookie of the Year and MVP, was scheduled to become a free agent after the 2011 season. CSNPhilly.com first reported the two sides were close to deal. ChiSox_Sonix
Red Sox signed a 22 year old Cuban catcher today. Cubano's blog gets the shout out and credit for being the first to report the deal.

Milkman delivers
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) After winning 17-3 tonight the Brewers have now outscored the Pirates 53-4 in their 4 meetings this year. Wow, so they were outscored 36-1 before tonight. That almost sounds worse than 53-4.
scenario
Saw this in a Yahoo article about fans getting hurt at games... "During spring training, Minnesota outfielder Denard Span lined a foul ball that hit his mother sitting in the stands near the Twins’ dugout." Geez. What are the odds of hitting your mother with a line drive during a game?

"During spring training, Minnesota outfielder Denard Span lined a foul ball that hit his mother sitting in the stands near the Twins’ dugout." Geez. chw42
The moment SOMETHING didn't make sense in UZR, people have to go crazy and say "see, sabermetrics = invalid, ignorance FTW" The new improvements in UZR, which take positioning and park factor into account, has Jason Bay at a +2 instead of a -13 he was given last year. Due to this, some guy at the Boston Herald and Deadspin decided to say sabermetrics = invalid and that Jason Bay deserves some kind of an apology. Nice research done... Too bad his UZR in the past three years is like -30... http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/uzr-and-jason-bay/
witesoxfan
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AjCu...ti-posada042710 Sit down with Jorge Posada talking about all the pitchers he's caught. I can't stand either team, but I always love these kinds of retrospective pieces. It's just a fun and exciting little read.
