Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 06:05 PM) Perfect Game rematch today Halladay v Johnson Lived up to the advanced billing. Both pitchers were outstanding, with Johnson being a little bit better. The supply of young, premier SP's in baseball (the NL in particular) seemingly runs on forever. I know today they faced Josh Johnson today, but what has happened to Philly's offense??? They have been pretty awful for the most part the last month. Jordan4life_2007
Carlos Santana has arrived. http://www.sbnation.com/2010/6/11/1512745/...ndians-baseball If this kid turns out to be as good as he's supposed to be, Shapiro will have pulled off one of the biggest steals of the last 10 years. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 07:22 PM) Red Sox firing on all cylinders, 12 runs still in the third inning. Weren't they supposed to have all sorts of trouble scoring runs this year? Also worth noting that the top 3 run scoring teams in baseball are the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays (not to mention the Blue Jays have hit a billions HRs). That division is a MONSTER. Gotta feel for the Orioles. They're like the overweight girl that happens to have four hot friends. Jordan4life_2007
Carlos Pena just hit his 7th HR in his last 6 games (he's homered in all 6 games).

Speaking of Carlos's guess who's 2 for 4 today with a double, HR and 3 RBI in his second big league game!?!?!

Has this been the sickest rookie class in years or what? If not for the service time rules, we'd have some ROY races for the ages in both leagues. Brian
Unless he is pitching through constant pain, why does Billy Wagner want to retire again?
Quin
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Has this been the sickest rookie class in years or what? If not for the service time rules, we'd have some ROY races for the ages in both leagues. This is why I hate the service time rule. These would be great ROY races The NL would have Stanton, Heyward, Strasburg, Posey while the AL would have Santana, Smoak, and some others I'm forgetting. Also, ESPN comparing Daniel Nava to any of those guys is just sad. Edited June 13, 2010 by Quinarvy

ThunderBolt
I really feel bad for this Nava kid. ESPN is giving him so much hype, and he’s nowhere near as talented as guys like Carlos Santana and Mike Stanton. This kid is being set up for failure. Jordan4life_2007
And what do you know, the Rays have seemingly been head and shoulders above everybody else all season, and here they are tied with the Yankees for first place. That's going to be some kinda race. There's been rumblings of a Cliff Lee to the Yankees deal possibly in the works. They've got the ammunition. Thing is with the emergence of Phil Hughes and Javy pitching much better of late (though Javy can obviously blow up at anytime), they might not even need Lee. SoxAce
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) And what do you know, the Rays have seemingly been head and shoulders above everybody else all season, and here they are tied with the Yankees for first place. That's going to be some kinda race. I don't think the Rays (nor Yankees) will complain at all if they win the Wild Card. I'm still not sold on Boston, but they have been getting their s*** together too.
