Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Wow, an epic meltdown by the Reds. They need bullpen help a lot more than they need another starter. I haven't checked recently, but I would imagine Chapman is nowhere near as far along as they expected he would be at this point. ThunderBolt
Corey Patterson just crushed a game tying grandslam with 2 strikes on him and 2 outs in the top of the 9th. Off Nefalti Feliz no less
chw42
Epic duel going on. Halladay and Travis Wood are in a no score game. Wood has a perfect game going. Edited July 11, 2010 by chw42

fathom
Dusty Baker managing just a terrible series so far, as he brought in the terrible Ondrusek to face Rollins, who had a game winning single. Reds are really limping into the All-Star Break.

witesoxfan
Joaquin Benoit allowed a baserunner against Cleveland today. That raised his WHIP from 0.49 to 0.51 in 27.2 IP.
Kyyle23
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) Scott Kazmir got shelled tonight. He goes to the break with a 6.92 ERA. He game up 13 runs in 5 IP. They said on ESPN that he was only the second guy since the expansion that has ever done that. Scioscia made him bite the bullet for the bullpen

JorgeFabregas
Jayson Nix went hit 6 homeruns in 8 games earlier this month. Good for him. I'm not sad that he's gone, but it would've been nice if he did something--anything--for the Sox while he was with the team this year. witesoxfan
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) Jayson Nix went hit 6 homeruns in 8 games earlier this month. Good for him. I'm not sad that he's gone, but it would've been nice if he did something--anything--for the Sox while he was with the team this year. He hit a pretty big grand slam off of James Shields. Didn't do much else, but he was never really given an opportunity to do much else. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 12:06 AM) John Ely was sent to the minors today, replaced by fellow former Sox farmhand Jon Link. There are some reports that suggest this might just be for flexibility reasons. The Dodgers won't need Ely for like 9 days or something like that and they could use the bullpen depth in the meantime. flavum
Bengie Molina hit for the cycle. I gotta see that triple. He was also pulled after that with a tight quad.
Milkman delivers
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) Bengie Molina hit for the cycle. I gotta see that triple. He was also pulled after that with a tight quad. That...might be the most unlikely event that has ever happened in baseball. It surely has to be top 10, and the most unlikely cycle ever. Swisher coupled with Jay Bruce are pretty clear indicators that strange trends in BABIP need to be followed closely and taken with a grain of salt. fathom
Anyone else following the Pirates inability to hit a home run with men on base? Longest streak in 25 years I believe, as it's something like 1,300 ABs without one.
