Jordan4life_2007
The Phillies are amazing. They've become the modern day Braves. They've got a stacked ML roster and somehow a loaded system, even though they've traded for 3 aces in the last 15 months. f*** the Twins. The Phils are the team I wish to emulate. Brian
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) Quite a scene in Baltimore tonight with ARod hitting a very clutch home run. Was nice of Uehara to throw a fastball down the pipe. His change up is deadly and would of gotten Arod there.

chw42
So Joe Torre's time is done in LA. I wouldn't mind seeing him as our manager.

Balta1701
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 06:34 PM) Have you ever seen anything like this ever? This is f***ing amazing. I've never seen a 15 game run like this. Sammy Sosa, July 1998 was pretty darn close.

Didn't Barry Bonds have a freak 15 games or so a few years back? I don't remember the exact amount.
Balta1701
QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 07:05 PM) Didn't Barry Bonds have a freak 15 games or so a few years back? I don't remember the exact amount. I'm sure that he's had a 15 game stretch with a 2.000 OPS during the real THG seasons.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Sammy Sosa, July 1998 was pretty darn close. I guess the fact he's single-handedly (with a little help from Cargo) pushing the Rockies towards the playoffs makes it a little more amazing. Jordan4life_2007
Jose Bautista just hit #49. Definitely most improbable season since Brady Anderson's '96.

His little HR binge might end up costing me several hundred dollars in fantasy baseball winnings. That being said, good for him, it is an amazing streak he is on. Balta1701
Cardinals backup catcher Jason LaRue retires due to post-concussion symptoms from the concussion he suffered when Johnny Cueto kicked him during that brawl a few months ago. There is just a ton of amazing young talent in the majors today. That Rockies team is going to be really fun to watch for a while.

ThunderBolt
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) I wonder how long the lawsuit takes to happen? I was thinking about that too. I think it's a very realistic option, he'd probably at least get it settled too.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 08:51 PM) He's only 25 too. There is just a ton of amazing young talent in the majors today. That Rockies team is going to be really fun to watch for a while. I called it before the season (specifically the young arms). It's a great time to be a fan of the game. Unfortunately, the Sox, IMO, are in the bottom 10 as far as overall talent goes. And by that I mean major and minor league talent. Balta1701
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) I wonder how long the lawsuit takes to happen? Towards the bottom of that article LaRue will rejoin the Cardinals in Pittsburgh on Monday, according to the report, allowing him to share a final road trip with the team and visit a concussion specialist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. LaRue, who has three children with his wife, Heather, said he is not planning to take legal action against Cueto, according to the report. "I was going to retire on my own terms," LaRue said, according to the report. "It's unfortunate that the blow that decided it came from someone kicking me in the head with spikes. I wouldn't say I would change things if you could rewrite history. They say things happen for certain reasons. In this case, I couldn't tell you why. Does it suck that my career is over because Johnny Cueto started kicking me in the head? Yes, it sucks.

LittleHurt05
Cole Hamels since the All-Star Break: 5-3, 90.2 IP, 100K, 1.89 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, .202 BAA If he pitches anything like he did in the 08 playoffs, then I think the Phillies have to be the favorite to win it all with that 1-2-3 punch in the rotation.
