Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) ? It depends on the person and on the issue, sometimes. Becksy's swing is clearly screwed all to hell right now. I'm not saying sending him down would be the end of his career. But considering all the hype (something that I was concerned about anyway) surrounding him coming into the season, a trip back to AAA would be kinda disheartening. chw42
You have any idea how much face the organization would lose if we send Beckham back down? No way in hell is that happening.

He's currently sporting a .330 BABIP (about 50 points higher than projections and career numbers). Edited May 4, 2010 by chw42

Jordan4life_2007
Ubaldo Jimenez is this year's Zack Greinke. And unlike ZG, he's actually on a good team.

I hope people just continue to bring him up forever. "Chris Young now working as a scout for the Seattle Mariners" 35 years from now. DROP THE CHRIS YOUNG SH*T. Brian
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) Trivia question: What are the maximum number of outs in an inning? 6?
BigSqwert
QUOTE (Brian @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) 6? I think it's infinity. A batter swings at strike 3 for the 3rd out and the ball gets away (bases empty). He later tries stealing 2nd base and the catcher throws it to CF causing the runner to score. Next batter swings at strike 3 and the ball gets away....and you keep repeating this. Am I wrong?

qwerty
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) Trivia question: What are the maximum number of outs in an inning? QUOTE (Brian @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) 6? Six is the right answer. The question that was asked is the maximum number of outs in an inning. Not strikeouts. They are two entirely different animals. They are recorded differently. Theoretically though, infinity strikeouts in a half inning is a possibility.

Milkman delivers
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) But it could feasibly be more, right? There isn't a limit? According to everything I've ever known about the game of baseball, there would be no limit. It's one of the reasons why a baseball game is never really over until the final out is recorded. You could be down 100-0 with two outs and a full count in the bottom of the 9th of a perfect game, and there is still an actual chance of winning. In football, hockey, and basketball, that's not the case. Due to a game clock, at some point it becomes humanly impossible to score enough points/goals in a given amount of time.
