pmcochr
According to Bill Madden of The NY Daily News, the Royals have agreed to send the versatile Mark Teahen to the White Sox in exchange for Chris Getz and Josh Fields. Madden says Teahen is expected to replace free agent-to-be Jermaine Dye in rightfield. chunk23
That didn't take long for the offseason to start. Also wouldn't it make more sense to put Teahan at 3rd, move Beckham and Ramirez over, and shop for a bigger bat in RF?
southsider2k5
Interesting. I am not surprised to see Fields out the door so quickly, but I am shocked to see Getz gone. Teahen is a nice add for us.
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
If true it opens the door for a Polanco signing.
pmcochr
On Mike and Mike this morning they were talking about a lot of arbitration players being released from teams. Would Uggla be a possibility for the Sox? I have been a fan of his for awhile but I know that he is seen negatively ever since the All-Star game errors. Kyyle23
the nix getz debate is now over. LMAO, greg is gonna freak out over another royal being on the team This could mean that Beckham goes to 2B and Teahen goes back to 3rd Edited November 5, 2009 by KyYlE23
Steve9347
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT TRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! winninguglyin83
Teahen hits well against us, but against everybody else ... not so much. he doesn't have the profile of a power-hitting corner outfielder. His RBI totals are ultra lite. His walk total are in decline. I would have preferred to keep Getz. Maybe Kenny Williams has his eyes on ... Orlando Hudson, who lost his place in the Dodgers' lineup to Ronnie Belliard.

ChiSox_Sonix
I really liked Chris Getz. Is Mark Teahen the answer in RF field though? Doesnt seem like he has the power numbers to be a significant factor at that position.
RockRaines
f***, I love Getz, he's the type of player that we need, and will kill us for years. Dammit. I liked the trade at Fields.
shipps
Damn I really like Getz. KW i will trust in you being I am your biggest fan.
southsider2k5
Also keep in mind Teahan was learning second base before Gordon got hurt last year.
chetkincaid
I'm not sure about this trade. I know I don't want Teahen to be the answer in the outfield. I guess my Carl Crawford pipe dream is dead for now.
LittleHurt05
wow, KW doesnt mess around!! I like Teahans versatility, although it seems like his numbers have never lived up the the hype he gets...Dont know if I am excited about him as an everyday right fielder, unless he picks it up. I was a fan of Getz, but I guess it was him or Nix anyway....Fields was gonna go either way
RockRaines
I guess the org thinks alot of CJ, because I'm pretty sure they've seen Nix isnt the answer at 2B.

bighurt574
I think Teahen ends up at 3B, with Beckham moving to 2B.
JohnCangelosi
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 10:22 AM) I really liked Chris Getz. Is Mark Teahen the answer in RF field though? Doesnt seem like he has the power numbers to be a significant factor at that position. Nor does he have the power numbers for 3B either. I wasn't a fan of Getz or Fields anyways so to me it's not a big deal, but we're going to need to do more than this offensively to be a factor next year. CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Huge defensive upgrade in RF over Dye, lost our main stolen base threat and Teahen does bat LH.
winninguglyin83
where are they going to get the money to sign polanco? bigger issue is fixing the freaking bullpen.
