They'll let him walk if the Yankees offer him $180/8, but they're not going to let him walk for this guy. The Red Sox always like to have a deep OF, esp with Drew out there who is Mr. Glass. They need to generate some interest, bringing in a native son who is also a pretty damn good player would go a long ways towards that.
