NorthSideSox72
Surprised I didn't see this posted (unless I missed it). Wilson Betemit has been signed by the Royals.

TheHolyBovine
Now that he's a Royal, there's a pretty good chance we'll trade for him again in the future.
elrockinMT
I broke the news in the Diamond Club yesterday, but I forgive you

elrockinMT
QUOTE (tommy @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 08:40 PM) What a mistake he was, I hate that Swisher trade. Even though some would argue I agree with you. Maybe Swisher needed to be traded but THE trade we made with NY was a bust at least so far. claydude14
Wtf happened to Jeff Marquez, the supposed "5th starter candidate" sinker-baller?
Balta1701
QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) Wtf happened to Jeff Marquez, the supposed "5th starter candidate" sinker-baller? He dealt with bone spurs in his elbow all year and therefore sucked. I'm still somewhat surprised, given his performance, that he never had surgery. He may well have dealt with it this offseason for all I know. He's no longer on the "Could help right now" list, but it's health that is keeping him from beign on that list, maybe not talent. At least from the Sox perspective, it looks like Hynick may be able to serve the role that was anticipated to be served by Marquez.
SockMe
Nunez was a very good pick up and maybe Marquez can do something out of the pen or something....................just trying to think positive

Balta1701
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 14, 2009 -> 08:19 AM) Do you think he still might be a possibility or is he done? Well, he's still on the 40-man, so they haven't totally given up on him yet. Beyond that though, I have no idea exactly what the details of his injury are or whether or not it's something he can recover from. People have come back from bone spurs before, but like I said, it usually seems to wind up involving surgery, and as far as I know he hasn't had that. I certainly wouldn't trade Hudson and expect that I can count on him as a 6th starter option next year.
