WhiteSoxfan1986
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...sp&c_id=mlb Good stuff. The writers have gotten all of the major awards right so far.
Kalapse
All is right in the universe. Jeter actually finished 3rd. That's surprising. Zobrist came in at 8th which is higher than I'd expect given his total lack of name recognition.
Jordan4life_2007
After Pujols win the NL MVP, I think this might be the first time in my almost 20 years as a hardcore baseball fan that I haven't had a single issue with any of the award winners. Rowand44
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 01:22 PM) After Pujols win the NL MVP, I think this might be the first time in my almost 20 years as a hardcore baseball fan that I haven't had a single issue with any of the award winners. Very true. Besides a few gold gloves, the awards have been very well deserved this year.

Well, the Gold Gloves are voted on by the Managers and Coaches and not the BBWAA like the MVP and CY so they don't really go hand in hand IMO. Agreed. I think the only award where I can see an argument was the NL Cy Young with Lincecum winning it, but it doesn't "bother me" at all. chw42
Who voted for Miguel Cabrera? Is this the same guy who voted Verlander for Cy Young? Idiot...
ChiSox_Sonix
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) Agreed. I think the only award where I can see an argument was the NL Cy Young with Lincecum winning it, but it doesn't "bother me" at all. Well, the "problem" with the NL Cy Young was that there were 3 legitimate cases to be made, so it was gonna be hard for people to agree with that one on. It's a good argument to be made though, unlike if say Jeter had won the AL MVP or something like that.
bschmaranz
I'm shocked that some jagbag New York writer didn't give Jeter a vote.

Idiot... According to Ken Rosenthal Mauer, on the other hand, was so far above his competition, he easily deserved all 28 first-place votes — and it's a mystery to me why one voter, Keizo Konishi of Kyodo News, had the Tigers' Miguel Cabrera at the top of his ballot. I had Cabrera 10th, and I'll explain why in a moment. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/1041965...s-for-2nd-place
