Marky Mark
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) When was the last time we signed a Bora$ client? Jordan Danks?

Kalapse
QUOTE (Sec101Row1 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) Dewayne Wise signs with the Phillies Minor league contract. Apparently he couldn't find a major league deal, the Phillies are a curious choice; they have the best outfield in baseball and plenty of depth. Leonard Zelig
OK, is this better or worse than signing Crisp for this role?

I think we would have a solid bench, a team the fans would like, very competitive, overall good team. Bullpen would be the only thing that may need work though. WCSox
Wow, I like this. Dirt-cheap, can play RF (and CF occasionally), and big-time hitting potential. Way to go, Kenny! Edited November 25, 2009 by WCSox

WCSox
QUOTE (YASNY @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 01:34 PM) He may very well turn out to be an asset. I'm betting (figuratively speaking) that he'll still be an ass. We will see. There's probably a greater-than-50% chance that you're right. Still, I think he's worth a $500k gamble. Princess Dye
Using 2mil on the bench might mean no more expenditures for backup catcher. Flowers is in? Edited November 25, 2009 by Princess Dye
Texsox
Good thing we are getting away from sluggers and moving to stronger defense and quicker on the base-paths

Texsox
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 05:45 PM) Jones is probably a plus defensive corner outfielder. ThunderBolt
God, I would have gone ballistic 5 years ago to hear we got Omar Visquel and Andruw Jones. I find this move odd, but I understand it. Hell, I think it can work. It’s a great fallback option if things don’t work out for us this offseason. I just hope like hell we have our eyes on a bigger prize.
Kalapse
QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) Sadly, with our current line up, he could be a late inning defensive sub. We only have 1 corner outfielder right now and our CF is an elite defender, little early for this kind of thinking. I'd also say the Vizquel signing improved our team defense quite a bit. Texsox
QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 05:58 PM) what's sad about this? I'm underwhelmed by his defense at this stage in his career, at least as a defensive stud. I'm in a Junior kind of mood about this. It's kind of a middling signing. The guy we think of is not the guy that would be signing this contract. Although, it probably says the Sox are the best team he could sign with, because he isn't playing for the money.
