Marty34
http://www.i-yankees.com/?p=11938 A couple of things: 1.) Could the Sox top offer better the Red Sox? Trading for Ramirez, signing Nick Johnson, resigning Pods. Lineup: 7 Pods 4 Beckham 6 Ramirez 3 Johnson 9 Quentin B Konerko 2 AJ 8 Rios 5 Teahan I estimate that Ramirez, Johnson, and Pods would add $16M to the payroll which could be partially offset by saving $7M and non-tendering Jenks. Payroll would be at ~$90M pending arbitration cases 2.) If the Red Sox do trade for Ramirez it would have to take them out of the running for Adrian Gonzalez based on the prospects they'd have to give up opening the door for a trade to the Sox. I really expect KW to find his #3 hitter for the next 5 years this offseason. Ramirez, Gonzalez, or Upton.
GreatScott82
I would say the chances of Florida moving Ramirez is about 5%. There is a much better chance acquirering Gonzalez or Upton. If Boston wants Doc Halladay, they will have to deal Buchholtz. To aqcuire Hanley it would most likely have to be Ellsbury, Buchholtz, Bard among others. Our offer would have to be: Alexei, Viciedo, Flowers and Hudson. Seriously as much as I would love to have Hanley- we have other pressing needs- and if we are going to strip away our farm- it better be to fill those needs. (leadoff OF, Powerhitter 1B/DH, bullpen)
Kyyle23
Im sick of the Red Sox using the Marlins as their personal farm system. Its like they sent Hanley for some major league seasoning if this trade actually happens

The Marlins aren't trading Hanley Ramirez and if they do it won't be to the Sox unless they're absolutely head over heals in love with Gordon Beckham and our top 5 to 7 so prospects. Jordan4life_2007
LOL. Buchholz, Ellsbury, Bard and Casey Kelly for Hanley? And I don't think that's enough.
SoxAce
Theo has been trying to get Hanley back for years now. He will gladly take Beckett/Lowell and the W.S. titles of course, but he knows he gave up a premier talent and in some strange way regrets it. He can try all he wants, I seriously doubt the Marlins will trade that guy.

If Florida traded Hanley I would reclassify them AAA
