What is a practical and perfect # of kids to have?

First and foremost, I believe it depends on your financial situation. If you can barely get by without kids, no reason to have a kid. Kids are extremely expensive.

Hopefully though I become financially sound and have at least 4 and the maximum being 7 or 8. Im old fashioned and want a big family. Coming from a decent sized family (4 siblings), I found growing up with siblings to be beneficial. In all reality, I only lived with 2 siblings and the oldest two were already in college by the time I was old enough to care.

 

I dont know, it all depends on what floats your boat.

 

Plus, once Im old and retired, I want grand kids to keep me occupied.

Boy, aren't they ever. Although I don't mind spending a lot of money on him for Christmas

This question is really all opinion. I wouldnt mind 3, but thats because my first is a stepdaughter and I would like to have two children with my wife. If we end up sticking with just 2, I wont be crushed.

I think 3 is my max. 2 is a good number but I would like to have a boy, so if the first two pop up as girls I've told my wife we are going for a 3rd. After that, I'm getting snipped. The fiance would like three though.

 

I really think you are biased to agree with what you grew up with. I like two because I'm one of two and she likes three because she is one of three. I just want em healthy and to have one boy that I can pass all my sports knowledge too.

 

She knows if we get three girls, at least one is going to turn into a total tomboy.

The first thing I'll teach him is what my dad taught me...how to bean the opposition to keep em honest, haha. In little league whenever I hit a kid, I'd look over to him and after the game I'd say he was leaning over, etc. I think it brought tears to my old mans eyes.

 

Especially the one and only time I ever threw a no-no, where I ruined the perfect game by drilling someone, bahahaa. Ahh, the days where I was great at a sport. Now I'm glad to be mediocre on my softball club.
