southsider2k5
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:58 PM) Should have been 41 and 0. So are you saying Dye should have never been out of RF? Who should have backed it up? The choices were Rios in RF with Pods or Wise in CF, or Wise in RF.

BigSqwert
QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) Can Pods even make the throw from RF to 3B ? I'd rather have good defense up the middle. He can't make a throw from anywhere in the OF so what's the difference? He would have been replacing Jermaine "Ringling Bros" Dye anyway so it wasn't really a downgrade in right.

Whenever I heard Adam Dunn's name mentioned, I thought "just another aging slugger", but he's actually not that old (just turned 31). And the guy consistently hits 40 bombs from the left. I'm down... Get it done.... or DUNN. (I know, that was bad).

He does one of three things frequently. Walks, Strikes out, or Homers. Great OBP, great OPS. Can play a corner spot and 1st base. Neither of them very well. I suggested Dunn a few pages back, and I think he would fit perfectly as a lefty with plenty of thump. Monetary considerations might not work well though. JuiceCruz16
I don't see any legit shot at Dunn, but for those saying they would pass on him, IF he is avaliable because of his K's, well, I couldn't disagree more. He would be a perfect DH addition after the Pierre pickup. I wonder how Vlad's back and other health concerns are, but I would think he is Kenny's target for DH at this point. G&T
Dunn is owed $12M next season. I can't see the Sox picking that up, and the Nats aren't about to throw money in a deal for Dunn.
SouthsideDon48
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:56 PM) I just heard Kenny has a guy in mind and he's in discussion to get him. I don't have anything more than that and anything else I add would be pure speculation. I think he'll make one more hard push at Adrian Gonzalez, but I don't think San Diego is ready to let him go. I honestly don't know who it will be, but I got a sneaking suspicion it won't be anyone we have speculated too heavily about. There just aren't a lot of FA options out there, so you'd have to think the club is looking to go the way of a trade. Would it be logical to speculate that it could be someone like Adam Dunn? hmmmmm :-?
