Balta1701
Aramis Ramirez to the 15 day DL with a hurt left thumb. Doesn't believe he'll need surgery, just wants to give it a rest. He'll be eligible to come off on the 23rd, the Sox play them on the 25th-27th. Chad Tracy called up from AAA to take his roster spot. kitekrazy
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 11:44 AM) I think it is tough to truly rate Silva. He has had success in the AL before, and he got paid, then got fat and happy. He absolutely sucked in a Mariners uniform, but the guy was in a revolving buffet line the entire time he was there. He looks like he took the offseason seriously this year and showed up to Cubs camp in shape, and he looks like a totally different pitcher now. Even if he didn't win another game it still make the Cubs getting the better end of that Bradley trade.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 10:03 AM) Even if he didn't win another game it still make the Cubs getting the better end of that Bradley trade. Silva could have spent the duration of his contract on the DL, and the Cubs would still have gotten the better end of that trade.
fathom
Did Bud Selig pass a ruling that the Cubs must face Dave Bush in every series between the teams? Heck, he got demoted to the bullpen, and he's still finding a way to start against the Cubs!

SoxFan562004
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 05:09 PM) Brewers win on a Cubs error on a bunt with Carlos Gomez running on the play. Cubs handed that game to the Brew Crew, Castro had a bad error that kept an inning alive scoring the 4th run and the pitchers walked the world today. I actually agree with Lou here. Who out of Soriano (.898 OPS), Byrd (.910 OPS), and Fukudome (.843 OPS) is he supposed to regularly sit for Colvin? HuskyCaucasian
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) I actually agree with Lou here. Who out of Soriano (.898 OPS), Byrd (.910 OPS), and Fukudome (.843 OPS) is he supposed to regularly sit for Colvin? The argument I think Stone is making that if you arent going to play a guy with his talent on regularly, it is counter productive for his development to ride the bench. Send him down to get ABs. Balta1701
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) The argument I think Stone is making that if you arent going to play a guy with his talent on regularly, it is counter productive for his development to ride the bench. Send him down to get ABs. Bah, with as successful as Colvin has been so far, sending him down makes no sense. If they're not going to play him this year or soon, frankly, the right move is to trade him to a team for bullpen help.
danman31
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 03:22 PM) If they're not going to play him this year or soon, frankly, the right move is to trade him to a team for bullpen help. They should trade someone. It's also worth noting that Colvin is hitting .176 vs. lefties and has been used primarily against righties because of this. He doesn't hit near .300 as a full time starter, especially not with that ugly K rate.
