You had to wait about a year for a movie to come to video after it's theatre run?

You had to look in an actual newspaper for movie theatre times?

Carry on...

that sucked! I hated it!

Once you left your house you couldn't contact your friends about where you were or how you would meet them at a certain place because there were no cell phones?

This is what immediately came to my mind as well. It's strange to think I'm not even that old and I can speak of a time as recent as eight years ago that any teenager today probably couldn't imagine living in.

Additional items:

Arcades, and always anticipating new ones

Dollar cinemas (none around where I live, anymore) and drive ins.

Copying videos by hooking up two VCRs to each other

AOL

Mom and pop video stores (most notably those within a neighborhood where the owner lived above the store

When you were headed to an unfamiliar place and you had to call a friend and use their crappy ass directions instead of looking it up online or plugging it into a GPS, and there was a chance you'd get lost and have to find a pay phone.
