HuskyCaucasian
Two new Stories: NBC’s Jay Leno Disaster Continues Into Current TV Season In case you thought NBC solved everything by moving Jay Leno back to The Tonight Show earlier this year, now that the new TV season is in full swing, it looks like it’s anything but. In fact, the new TV season is only amplifying how bad the cascading set of decisions — that started with moving Jay Leno out of The Tonight Show in favor of Conan O’Brien — was. To put it mildly, the damage continues. Here are the facts: * The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is getting a lower rating in the key 18-49 demographic than The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien did this time a year ago. The ratings for both shows isn’t anything to write home about — a 1.0 for O’Brien vs. a 0.9 for Leno — but remember the expectation that Leno was going to restore the program? * The 10 p.m. dramas on NBC that have replaced The Jay Leno Show are actually doing no better than The Jay Leno Show — which was considered one of primetime’s greatest disasters. According to TV By the Numbers, it stacks up like this: in the third week of this season, the average rating in 18-49 over the course of Monday to Friday is identical to The Jay Leno Show at the same time last year — a 1.68. Additionally, on two nights — Friday (where the now-cancelled Outlaw had the 10 p.m. slot), and Thursday (where The Apprentice currently runs), The Jay Leno Show actually did better. The one night where the new program does substantially better is Wednesday, where the “new” Law and Order: LA did a 2.4 rating last week as opposed to the Leno show’s 1.7 last year. Blame Conan! Leno's Young Viewers Are No More! Since Jay Leno returned to The Tonight Show, his numbers in the 18 to 49 demographic have dropped significantly. Just 1.3 million of his 3.7 nightly viewers are between 18 and 49, down 4.4% in the last seven months! He even tied Letterman for the first time with a .09 rating. But things are about to get worse! When Conan debuts on TBS in November, The Tonight Show is expected lose even more viewers. Better hang on tight, Jay! The Conester is coming. Steve9347
QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 21, 2010 -> 11:25 AM) Anyone else been watching the live cococam at all the last 24 hours? I had it on for a spell yesterday, though watching a puzzle being put together isn't that appealing.
knightni
There was an older guy stumbling around blind wearing a T-Rex mask this morning. He almost fell down the stairs.
Balta1701
Conan O'Brien wants his masturbating bear, and he dares NBC to sue him over it. In an interview with Rolling Stone, O'Brien said he will figure out a way to have some of his trademark bits from his NBC shows to his TBS show, which premieres on November 8. "If there's something we did for a long time that we've established as ours, we'll figure out a way to do it," he told Rolling stone. "I won't be denied my Masturbating Bear!" He said his dream situation would be to be dragged into a lawsuit over the character, which was a staple of his "Late Night" show. "What I really wanna do is be sued over the bear and then appear in court with the Masturbating Bear," he said. "'Your Honor, this bear can't help himself!'" Milkman delivers
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 09:05 AM) Link That last line is great. The commercial where the janitor walks into the room and turns the light on and finds Conan just waiting at his desk for November 8 is hilarious.
