SouthsideDon48
I really hope the Sox resign Alexei or give him a contract extension. I know he has some brainfarts with his defense, but I like what he contributes to the team. I kind of wish he was here when we had Iguchi, I think a Alexei/Iguchi double-play combo would've been thrilling to watch.
Cubano
KW is probably trying to do the same with some Cubans free agents. Yuniesky Maya may be a target for him.
Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Jan 11, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) I really hope the Sox resign Alexei or give him a contract extension. I believe we have him for 4 more years. I don't think we have to do that right now.

I know he has some brainfarts with his defense, but I like what he contributes to the team. I kind of wish he was here when we had Iguchi, I think a Alexei/Iguchi double-play combo would've been thrilling to watch. Why? We have him for two more years at just over $2 mil. joeynach
Does anyone else think the sox will extend Alexi after this year. 2011 is his final year at $1.1M and then hes arb eligible. My guess would be the sox offer him some sort of 3 year 14 mil extension like they gave Tehean.
southsider2k5
I think they are going to wait and see what happens both on the field, and what happens in Alexei's head.

My guess would be the sox offer him some sort of 3 year 14 mil extension like they gave Tehean. Even in 2012, his first year of arb-eligibility, we're probably not going to be talking about seriously huge $ just yet.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 14, 2010 -> 07:56 AM) Even in 2012, his first year of arb-eligibility, we're probably not going to be talking about seriously huge $ just yet. I think that would be his second of three.
qwerty
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 14, 2010 -> 07:57 AM) I think that would be his second of three. 2012 would be his first of just two arbitration years.

Yeah, because his forth year of his contract takes care of what would have been his first year of arbit.
