Wow, yes it is. And also probably a large reason why Coakley lost.

Yes. Democrats depend on the youth vote. It's a huge reason why Obama got elected in 2008, yet the under 30 community is nearly totally ignored as election day comes around. Turnout in Virgina was around 17% for people under 30, and in New Jersey it was 19%.

Not saying this would have made a difference but it might have made the NJ election much much closer.

Or perhaps young people are generally ignorant morons who get the government they deserve.

Yes, the over 50 crowd's nihilism is really showing their worth. They look at their shadow and think its a muslim.

So, to the Republicans, what do you think about Scott Brown as your 2012 nominee?

I've heard a lot of people say that.

It's not a hell of a lot different then Barackus the Great, really - altough the "community outreach" on the south side is what made Barackus so Great. Har.

It's also worth considering that he'd be presumably going into the 2012 election in a likely Dem takeover seat no matter what, given that it'd be a Presidential election year and that's going to motivate people to GOTV anyway, and it's freakin' Massachusetts. If he doesn't want to lose that election, one way to avoid it is to jump up a level.

And it's not like Obama can attack him on experience.

538 did an analysis on his positions and ranked him in the Senate. He is the most liberal Republican out there, just slightly more liberal than Olympia Snowe. (and he should be, due to the state he represents) He's just right of Ben Nelson (D) of NE.
