Now, that's a decent platoon. Let's get this done, and say, "thank god for sanity."

The pressure from the players (Konerko & AJ), the recent charity connection, the SoxFest experience and Kenny's lack of trust for Ozzie's "plan" are motivating the Thome resigning.

You can just feel it.

i love this lineup...

Pierre LF

Beckham 2b

Thome DH

Quentin RF

Konerko 1b

AJ C

Rios Cf

Teahen 3b

Ramirez SS

plus its not like Jones wont play plenty vs. lefties spelling thome at DH (perhaps playing the OF with one of pierre or quentin DHing). Kotsay will also play a decent amount giving konerko, and the OFers days off. Vizquel backs all of the IF positions. Its nice that in a pinch, all of Teahen, Beckham, Vizquel and Ramirez can play 2b, and all those guys but Teahen can play SS, and all of them but Ramirez can play 3rd. Gives us alot of protection if there is some injury

Something about batting Thome third just doesn't sit right, but I can see the benefits. It breaks up the RH bats, he gets on base, he hits for power. I just hate to have a clogger on the paths again so high in the lineup.

I want Thome hitting 4th or 5th depending on how good he actually is. Pierre, Rios/Alexei, Beckham, Quentin, Thome, Konerko, AJ, Rios/Alexei, Teahen.

I just want to thank you for removing that Dawson's Creek avatar. You could've put a photo of Richard Simmon's bare ass there instead and I actually would've been less revolted than I was every time I saw that Dawson pic.

Honestly, the concept of Joe Borchard is more disgusting and offensive to me than any bad 90's TV character, or bare ass could ever be.

Joe Borchard = Matt Thornton in my mind, so bring on those pictures!

Yeah, why the hell is CJ Wilson a topic at soxfest?

Because he was asked about it during a seminar.

He said he doesn't like CJ Wilson because he showed up Thome after an at bat. He then pointed out CJ got what was coming to him when Carlos hit a grand slam off him later in the same game.

I think Thome has too long of a swing to be an effective part time hitter....

It depends on what we're talking about as part time. Part time as in an NL style pinch hitter who gets an at bat a game, no, because of how streaky he is; he does his big damage in spurts. Part time as in playing 3-4 days a week, could possibly work.
