Oh look, Steve Jobs kind of an ass. He vowed to "destroy" Android for being stolen.

I also read an article today with quotes of Steve Jobs bashing Bill Gates saying he never invented anything and he just stole ideas from people. Basically he said he was a fraud. I never really had anything against Steve Jobs, but these things are making him look like a real tool.

It is pretty much true...

Anyone use Evernote? If so, how do you utilize it?

I use it so I have my always changing work schedule available both on my phone and my laptop at will. When I have a work related email and have to check my schedule I can pull it up on both and respond quicker. Basically any cloud service with basic documents will do for that, but Evernote seemed the most accessible for me. Initially my only complaint was that you couldn't format text (bold, italic, underline) on the mobile/app version, but that's recently been upgraded so I'm perfectly happy with what it does. That said, I don't think anything I use it for wouldn't be the same on other services.

Personally I'd be a Verizon user if I had a choice, but that's because I know VZN gives me solid coverage in backcountry areas from experience, and because I hate AT&T's products in general. If you don't need backcountry coverage though, there are benefits to the others.

this was the biggest reason I switched to Verizon

Of my back country dealings, I've had better luck with AT&T than Verizon, but I have seen areas where Verizon worked, and AT&T didn't. I've just run into more situations where AT&T worked and Verizon didn't.

That said, these sorts of issues on either AT&T or Verizon are soon to be a thing of the past. A few more years and I'm sure there will be no areas in the US where you cannot get signal (outside of Alaska).

CNN

Despite recent troubles, Netflix is a major force on the Internet, accounting for 32.7% of peak U.S. downstream traffic, according to a new report.

Sandvine Intelligent Broadband Networks' report analyzed 200 Internet service providers in 80 countries and found that real-time entertainment apps take up 60% of peak downstream traffic, up from 50% last year. Netflix has more than half of that share. Sandvine considers the hours between 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to be peak times.

Like others, Sandvine has also noticed a shift away from PCs to access such content. The company found 55% of traffic volume in North America is consumed on game consoles, set-top boxes, smart TVs and mobile devices. Only 45% is being accessed by laptops or PCs. Video makes up 32.6% of peak downstream mobile traffic, of which YouTube is the largest contributor.

Siri stopped working for a few hours yesterday. (Normally I'd have said Siri "went down" for a few hours yesterday but that sounded really dirty).

I wasn't aware it worked like that...pretty crazy that people are already hooked on it in just a few weeks.

I'm really temped to order it...I'm just curious when they will release the iPhone5 and whether it's worth it to hold out or not. I'm tired of not being able to use my phone in the car.

A year from now maybe is what I heard. I had to switch carriers and the 4s was cheap. Thats the reason I switched.

I would have reported my issues, but I got my 4S barely more than a week ago and have used Siri just once in the last week. I played with it the first couple days and was impressed with the voice recognition (it's damn near perfect), but I don't have uses for it. Alarm is cool and voice to text is cool, but I don't use it often.

Twice it's failed to give me directions to a high school (for work) even though it correctly understood what I said. It said 'Sorry I don't know ## high school, here is a list of high schools near you.' Of course, the ones I was looking for weren't on the list. If I simply typed the name into maps, it would give me directions. So in other words I don't use Siri for directions anymore, which was my most anticipated use of it.

I've used it for directions quite a few times without much issue. Of course, like any directions, it can be the app itself that doesn't understand the command the way Siri sent it, versus Siri itself. It's pretty useful once in a while, but it's not something I lean on all the time. It has it's uses, and for those uses it works well.

Keep in mind, this is just a pre-release of Siri, it's still in beta by Apples own admission.

I think that sums it up quite well. The potential is obvious, regardless of its current shortcomings.

4s and Verizon have arrived!

Has anyone tried that Gazelle site to sell their old iphones at all? My iphone 4 on ATT is pretty much in flawless condition and they claim to pay 200 for it

Ebay it, you can probably get more. The reason they pay so much for these is because they are unsubsidized contract free phones your reselling for a few hundred dollars, when on contract they'd need to spend that much plus the contract they cannot get out of.

With these older iPhones, they can unlock them onto networks that don't officially have iPhones, hence their worth. For example, T-Mobile.
