That was my point, it's the only page not blocked. Well, actually I think PIPA is unblocked too. But I mean come on.....dat ass!

I remember reading through the page and they did leave a workaround in place. You could use the mobile site through your phone or tablet, or you could turn off javascript on your browser. Then, you would still be able to hit the site and do what you needed.

Apple's new textbook software is amazing and revolutionary... for their profit margins since you can only use those textbooks on an iPad. If you REALLY want to be revolutionary, open it up to the world. time for Google to step up and create a TRUELY open next generation digital textbook platform.

Whether it's open or not...I would have loved this in college and law school.....for the prices students currently pay for textbooks, they could buy a new ipad every year loaded with the books already on there...

Oh, believe me, I dont disagree at all. Just saying I dont like the closed approach. LOVE Apple products though. I'm a walking contradiction.

The used books are still far more than $14.99!

Amazon has saved me the past few semesters without having to buy an ereader. I can buy a used text book from their marketplace for $95 and sell it back for $85 in Amazon credit (which is like cash to me for how much I shop on there). I freaking love Amazon.

I spent $800-1000 a semester in law school and refused to sell the books back for dimes on the dollar. Now I have a bunch of heavy law books I am still lugging around.

Textbooks on the iPad is something I fully support.

Just check them out on Amazon, who knows what you may get for them (even some older editions still bring back decent money).

But Im sure Law books are much harder to buy/sell.

Apologies if this has ever already been discussed...too many pages to look through haha

This has been bugging me for a while after reading various tech blogs... When it comes to TV/Movies Physical Media is still the best option. I love me some Netflix Streaming and Hulu and I'm sure I'll love whatever other Cloud-based streaming services that come out in the future, but until ALL of those services have EVERYTHING that's ever come out on home video and streams/hosts them FOREVER and ever (never losing the rights to certain blah blah), streams them is crystal clear High-Def/Highest Quality picture and Audio and includes Commentary and Special Features, until that happens Physical Discs are better. The picture and sound is a big issue cause I'm a bit of a snob, but the availability thing is what will stop the "death" of Discs. I'm willing to bet only a 1/4 (if that) of my collection is available online. That's a deal breaker.

(Ironically I feel the exact opposite about CD's. There's absolutely no advantage of a physical disc vs. mp3. What's the benefit? The booklet? I'd flip through those once and lose them forever. Possibly even use it as a Kleenex when I'm out. The jewel case? That breaks if you look at it funny. For a road trip I'll take my iPod with every song I ever want to listen to over lugging the CaseLogic CD holder with the handle that looks like you're carrying a suitcase with the Nuke codes in it any day)
