My iphone 5 comes in today, ordered it on October 1st and getting it on the 9th (sprint), so much for the up to 3 weeks shipping they tried to scare me with! I dont think ive ever been so excited to see a UPS man in his short shorts.

Did they send you an email saying it has shipped? Mine says order still being processed

When my iPhone 5 comes, is there an easy way to wipe my 4 clean of my stuff and give it to my mom?

Y2HH probably knows a better way, but what I do is do a restore through itunes back to factory settings.

I did receive an email from sprint saying that the order has shipped and the email contained the UPS tracking number. Im fiddling with the iphone 5 now and its really amazing, the freaking headphone jack is on the BOTTOM!

Do any major phones even have removable batteries at this point? I thought everyone went away from that because of space concerns.

Samsung is pretty much the last major Android OEM to still have replaceable batteries in their phones.

I don't think having a non-replaceable battery is a deal-breaker, but it sure as hell doesn't hurt to have a removable battery.

It puzzles me that Google purchased Motorola Mobility, but does nothing with them. It's become obvious that was just a patent buy at this point. Motorola still releases what I consider the worst in breed Android models, which makes no sense to me, since Google owns them, it would be the obvious play for Google's flagship Nexus phones to be Motorola branded, maybe with some Google oversight to keep the often overzealous Motorola designers in check.

I still have to rate the Samsung GS3 the top tier Android phone, with the HTC OneX or OneX+ coming in a very close second, followed then by the often underpowered Nexus models (underpowered in comparison to the Galaxy's, etc.) I find the Motorola branded phones to feel cheap...but to be sure, I've only messed with them for a short period at phone stores display models. That said, I found their build quality far behind that of the S3 or OneX.

If you haven't noticed, the new RAZRs and Atrix HD all have on-screen buttons. They are the first OEM to adopt that on a non-Nexus phone. Those same phones also leave the bare-bone Android OS alone for the most part, a lot more so than what HTC, Samsung, and Sony do. It's clear that there is some influence going on, but I don't think Google or Motorola want to make it look like they're playing favorites.

I'm also not sure why you don't like the Moto designs. I really like them. Kevlar on the back for grip and scratch protection seems fine to me.

You can just do a factory reset on the phone. No need to go through iTunes.

Apple Maps, for all of its blurry, melting world faults, was actually a little too clear in one area: it revealed a top-secret, $1.23 billion ultra-high-frequency radar of Taiwan for everyone to see.

Now Apple should do this for all United States military bases as well. I want to see what's actually in Area 51.

So, iphone 5, cool phone, love it. Sprint 4G LTE network isnt up in Chicago 100% though so I'm surfing at 3G speeds. This is very frustrating, its like buying a ferrari and being restricted to driving only on city streets.

Supposedly a big portion of Sprints LTE network is going live this year in Chicago, so you won't have to suffer long.

Bing did something similar with the Bin Laden training facility at one point.

I'm not sure I like the fact that we're removing or blurring buildings from satellite photos because some government deems them 'secret'. If they're so secret, the building image shouldn't matter...what goes on in the building should matter, and nobody should know that from a random image.

Google supposedly provides only low-resolution images in these circumstances, but I'm not sure how much I like that. I consider my house top secret, will they blur that? :D

I actually work in a warehouse by Pershing and Western and get LTE in the warehouse for some reason. I take the pershing bus to morgan and walk to 35th where I have a condo and I usually get LTE during the walk also. I get it nowhere else. It's weird.

I've liked my Cisco Valet Plus. I bought it a little over a year ago after lightning fried my dlink gamefuel router.

Thanks for the suggestion. Also, I like routers that you can 192.168.1.1 into and do a remote reset. The last router i had wouldnt let me do that and i would have to get off of my beanbag chair and unplug the router and plug it back in to reset, it was quite annoying and calorie burning.

I got a motorola router/modem combo unit, has worked great thus far.

My brother just put in some network-over-powerline adapters, says he gets amazing speeds on them.

I *think* you can do that. You do log onto the router through 192.168.1.1 for setup. The options are somewhat limited since it's meant to be a plug-and-play router. Honestly, I haven't messed with it since initially setting it up. I just use the WPS to add new devices.

AirPort Extreme hands down. I've had netgear, links us etc and its hands down the best performer I've ever had.
